Dino Super Charge Episode 17 “Worgworld” Review

Episode Review

“Worgworld” with it’s interesting title and interesting plot sure was just that, well “interesting”. I had a little bit of a harder time enjoying this episode as some others may have. We’re getting down to the wire here and I wasn’t much of a fan of the funny filler this time around. The Rangers became Zombies fixated on creepy trumpet music, a strong adversary was defeated while another returned. We focused on Koda a little bit more which I did like but the vehicle in which it was showcased was just a little strange for me. Let’s take a look back at some short moments that caught my attention.

Worg & Koda: The episode focused on a robotic android named Worg that held a special place in Koda’s heart. In the beginning Worg caused a lot of hilarious havoc within the museum, which I will admit was rather funny. He stole a toupee and threw tomatoes at Kendall and Tyler.
But, what I think was best about Worg was the way that Koda was able to interact with him, it seemed as if Koda was reaching out for a friend who understood him unlike his friends from the 21st century. Although Worg could not speak back, he was a good listener and reminded Koda of his old friends and his brother. I really enjoyed the moment that Koda was able to speak to Worg and remember not only these moments of the past but the moments it took him to get used to the 21st century. It was a great character moment for Koda.
However, the remainder of the Worg moments were rather boring. Including the moments they used him to fight off the Zombies of Amber Beach. It was all just a little strange to me and a little boring for the story to take that sort of turn. The ending of the episode where Worg leads the museum goers in Caveman aerobics was a little strange as well, but this episode was just pure strangeness period.

Conductro & Screech: It was very clever for the monsters to take this sort of turn in this episode. I loved that the eerily awesome music was able to turn the Rangers and the citizens of Amber Beach into zombies which did end up looking pretty scary.
They were rather powerful adversaries to the Rangers after they were first attacked with the Dino Spike and no damage had been done to them.
Plus, how ugly was that record player? It Looked like it had been made out of somebody’s colon!

Arcanon’s Transformation: I loved the transformation of Arcanon during this episode because at first it did seem to be a daunting task for the Ranger’s to defeat him. His face became an evil green color and he grew epic horns! The power of Zandar Thunder, Victory Charge & Silver Prism Strike could not scratch him and his twin henchman! However, I think that his mistake was using the Magna Beam too soon before taking a little fight out of the Rangers.
After that, it was all too easy for the Rangers to defeat him in the Dino Charge Ultrazord.

Sledge’s Return: As Arcanon lay defeated I was sure as hell not expecting a foot to step on his book! What an awesome return to the show! Sledge makes his return at the end of the episode and claims his bounty for all the work he has done for Arcanon over the last few millenia. His prize? The Dark Energem! Lord Arcanon dares him to stand up to him with 4 against one, but Snide suddenly sides with Sledge who has suddenly “gotten the band back together” with all our old favorite villains! With a blast of his weapon, Arcanon, Singe, Conductro and Screech are no more and Sledge has returned to take his revenge on the Rangers!

I can’t wait to see what kind of terror that Sledge is going to dig up with the Rangers as the last few episodes of Dino Super Charge come to a close! Heckyl is free as well and it’s going to be interesting to see where they go with his character now that he has escaped.
It was fantastic to see all of the original villains back together to destroy the newer team of villains. I think it was the end of the episode that saved the story for me. The Worg storyline was just not a winner for me this time around but I was so intrigued with the return of Sledge and Koda’s more vulnerable side.
I hope to see more of Sledge, Poisandra and Curio in the upcoming episodes because I’ve missed them so much!
