Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 29 Review

Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 29 – “All Out War! Dance, Carnival!”

We find our Kyoryu team in a heaven/dream state. Torin tells them the story of how he came to be.

Chaos and Torin were born randomly on an asteroid to destroy planets. Chaos was went to an asteroid and Torin went to Earth where he fell in love with the dinosaurs & the humans.

They come back to reality and Tessai (ummm he is so attractive now; what hair can do) saves Utchy while….

Good ol’ Ramirez shakes Luckiero for the shrinking ball.

The ball shrinks Torin and the whole group assembles in a meadow to grieve his passing.

Dogold decided to kiss Endorf’s ass and wants to help defeat the Kyoryugers with him now. Plot twist.

Back at the bed of a pickup truck, King reminds the team of hope and love.

Tessai and Ramirez share that they have been collecting the ember stones to help the team and that they might be able to revive Torin!! (Ramirez’s acting is everything. #VypraSchoolOfActing for you who understand that)

The spirit rangers transform and it’s great. Ramirez still loses weight every time and Yayoi is confused why she joined the Spirit rangers role-call if she’s alive. WE ALL ARE CONFUSED AS WELL. (Or why she has a gun and they don’t, but NBD) I feel like Yayoi is literally pointing out how badly they have fucked up with her character development. SHE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

Back at the spirit base the team starts singing a song to Torin with the stones. They then have flashbacks to the movie…

Where apparently they told us that music is the source of the Kyoryuger power. AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS BATTERY POWER ALL ALONG. LOL

Once Torin has been revived, King remembers he has another power up. Good timing? WHAT.

Minityra shows up and King teaches us the way of the gay man.

King transforms into Kyoryuzin Carnival and it’s pretty cool.

BUT THEN HE TRANSFORMS INTO MACHO, KUNG-FU, AND WESTERN CARNIVALS. If he switched out batteries one more time, I was going to kill him. Anyways, King hurts Endorf pretty bad and…

The rest of the Kyoryugers use a new finish attack and get rid of the rest of the paramonsters.

Dogold takes over Endorf’s body. Praise Jesus he’s gone for a bit.

Now that Torin is back and the Debos are at bay, they frolic in a meadow to finish off the episode.

Review

I really did like the first half of the season but something about King getting every single super power and mecha is starting to piss me off. Why can’t Yayoi control Plezuon? Why can’t each Kyoryuger control their mini mecha and have a carnival power up? Was the whole point of this season to have a musical movie? haha I’m missing the random funny monsters and character growth so much right now. And I’m kind of upset how badly they fucked up Yayoi as a character. LIKE SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE. But anyways. Overall, I like what they did with Torin’s death and rebirth, but I’m getting kind of tired of Endorf and all this action. Thank God he done for awhile. 5/10 sadly.

Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1. Stay Brave!
