Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 19 Review

Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 19 – “Kewtie! The Stolen Family”

Our new monster arrived and I knew this episode was going to be a delightful shit-show that reminds me of Akibaranger… Meet Kewtie, the baby Debomonster.

Utchy refuses to help the child that fell, Yuuji, because he thought the kid was independent enough to help himself. His parents come yelling at Utchy and are not happy.

Utchy is very upset that the child, Yuuji, could not do anything for himself.

Utchy tries to tell Yuuji that he can’t be coddled his whole life!

Our monster of the week, Kewtie, essentially is so cute that parents love her more than their own children, which creates love energy. On the other hand, the sad children create angry energy. This monster helps Aigaron and Candelira at the same time! Yuuji, their son, is upset that his parents don’t love him anymore, but mostly because he can’t do anything for himself.

Baby Kewtie transforms into Bad Kewtie and is not having any of them. And THAT DRESS.

These two pictures are just for fun. I mean, I love this monster.

Utchy has a flashback and we get an awesome reenactment of ancient King telling ancient Utchy to fight kindness sometimes. BUT THAT MUSTACHE. OMG.

Utchy tries to snap some sense in Yuuji. But, like, the kid just wanted a sandwich. Haha

Luckiero kidnaps Yuuji for Kewtie with candy. WITH CANDY.

Utchy comes to Yuuji’s rescue, who is attacked by Yuuji’s parents. But, Yuuji steps up and saves Utchy by grabbing his morpher from Kewtie!

The team comes together to stop Kewtie!

Kewtie kisses Ian and puts him under her control, but Amy and Utchy turn the Paramonsters against Kewtie and save Ian from obsession.

Kewtie took Luckiero’s gyro. I actually feel bad for Luckiero and the emotional violence. haha

Pteraidenoh Bunpachy makes his first appearance and destroys Kewtie!

We leave our brave team with Nossan poking at Ian that maybe Kewtie is his type of girl… I love how they end almost every episode with a Nossan one-liner. Magical.

Review

I loved this episode because of the DeboMonster Kewtie, but there is no way this will ever become a US episode because like, just no. Haha. Bad Kewtie for me harkens back to a Mighty Morphin/Zyuranger monster because of the dress and dark looks. Overall, this episode offered a whacky plot and awesome monster so 9/10.

Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1. Stay Brave!
