*DISCLAIMER* Let’s get this straight, I agree with Steve and his business decision as a real person with real decisions in the real world. The below comments are my rant as being a long term Power Ranger fan. If you don’t like my comments that is more than fine, disagree with me. I welcome other opinions! I always do! Again, nothing against Steve, this is just my ranty explanation of how my fanboy feels.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY KIND OF HATE OR RUDE MESSAGES TO STEVE AT ALL! THAT IS NOT COOL. SHARE YOUR OPINION BUT NEVER BE RUDE TO AN ACTOR WHO HAS SPENT HIS TIME BEING A GOOD MEMBER OF THE FANDOM. THIS IS MERELY AN OPINION OF THE SITUATION.
In a recent Facebook response (seen here) Steve Cardenas (Rocky, MMPR Red/Zeo Blue) has revealed that he has declined an offer to appear in Power Rangers Super Megaforce as our beloved Rocky who we have not seen since early Turbo days!
A fan named Tim Chandler asked Steve if he would consider coming back for the Fans.
Steve replied with his reasoning which was the fact that the offer was too low for him to leave his school.
He then goes on to insist that Saban is to blame for not offering him the appropriate amount of money and therefore letting down the fans.
*Please note this is my opinion of the situation and not of Steve as a person. I do not have the knowledge of his offer or how much it was or even if it was insulting to him. I just wanna say this. So, if it angers you, take your anger somewhere else sister.*
This really effing sucks. He says that he blames Saban for letting us down. But I say that HE is the one letting us down.
I understand the actors have their own lives and their own things going on, their own businesses but why give us the reason that money was the sole reason for you not returning and then attempt to blame the production company for it. There’s no way to get replacements or anything else for that time period? I would’ve preferred a more impersonal explanation. I don’t want to know that was the reason, honestly.
I thought that maybe since he has a business that if he were to appear in the new season he might gain a newer following for his school? No matter how small his role was, kids today are on the net constantly and can find him.
Steve also said that his role would’ve been small and in the background….Have you ever played Rocky before? Really?
I can honestly say they won’t get Austin, so you can be the star of the Red Ranger!
Haven’t you worked for Saban before? You know they are cheap!
I understand again, he might have gained these things of his own merit, but we don’t live in WHAT IF-land, we live here.
Come on Steve, we didn’t get to see you in Forever Red and now this?
Again, I understand you have a business and a life but this is truly disappointing to me. I truly thought our convention regulars would be there in the reunion or dedication to the franchise.
I feel this is the first huge blow to our hopes, call me a drama queen (I’ve been called worse) but that’s my opinion.
