*Small spoilers for “Soul of the Dragon” Ahead*
Continuing forward from the stories in the new graphic novel “Soul of the Dragon” it appears that something even further is happening in the future with the Power Rangers SPD team! It was revealed via the official Power Rangers Twitter on a Holiday graphic and Jason Bischoff’s (Hasbro) Twitter that a new SPD Team has assembled; some old faces and some new faces!
Taking the role of Red Ranger is Bridge Carson, not seeing a promotion is Z Delgado as Yellow Ranger, Tommy’s Son; JJ Oliver as revealed in “Soul of the Dragon” has taken over the role of Green Ranger (complete with his father’s Dragon Shield), Lina Song from Power Rangers Hyperforce has been promoted to Blue Ranger and Syd Drew as well has seen no promotion and stays at Pink Ranger.
Taking on a new form is Sky Tate; who we already know had been promoted to Commander! He is now known as this new form of “Deka Ranger” complete with a brand new look!
Jason Bischoff of Hasbro explains the new suit as:
“Deka – denoting a factor of 10, derived from the greek meaning ten”.
“Sky’s insignia ‘X’ is the roman numeral for 10 [following the convention seen in both Omega (VI) and Nova (M)]. It also features a legacy touch: a red arrow in honor of his father.”

Currently there is no word yet if/when there will be a graphic novel or limited run comic series based on this team, but it seems highly likely!
Fans largely reacted positively to the new Deka Ranger and the new Team of SPD Rangers, but there still seems to be a little negative reaction to the fact that Z and Syd (Females in Yellow and Pink) continue to stay in their current positions while a child of an Oliver and a Hyperforce Ranger outrank them; Legendary Rangers.
