Super Ninja Steel Episode 6 “Attack Of The Galactic Ninjas” Review

Thanks for being patient as I catch up with my reviews! Here is my review of “Attack of the Galactic Ninjas” which appears to be finally taking us into a powerful arc in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel. The Galactic Ninjas seem to be a formidable fighting force that will give the Rangers a run for their money! It’s about time that we get an arc in this series! This seems like it’s going to be an interesting run and from the amount of Galactic Ninjas, it seems as if we won’t get to see how it pans out until the hiatus resumes! Let’s take a look back at some moments from this episode.

The Galactic Ninjas, Wolvermean: Cosmo introduces the newest threat to the Ninja Steel Rangers, the Galactic Ninjas! I have to say that I love groups like this because it reminds me of my favorite season Jungle Fury and the Five Fingers of Poison monster faction!
Up first is Wolvermean (another cool monster name) who is the master ninja of stealing memories and leader of the Galactic Ninjas! This monster was able to steal the memories of Preston, Hayley, Brody & Sarah making them forget that they were ever Power Rangers. This was not only a bad thing for the team, but it also offered some pretty funny moments, which I’ll bring up later. I was also really happy that the Galactic Ninjas made use of the Foxbots as foot soldiers! I was wondering how they would be translated from the Sentai!
Unfortunately for him, revealing his scarecrow technique was his downfall because it gave the Rangers their idea later on to trick him! I was also really happy to see that Calvin and Brody shared his first defeat with the Lion Fire Whiplash Strike!
It’s also intriguing to me that even after being defeated by the Megazord that he still wasn’t actually done for! I wonder what will become of him now?

Calvin’s Feelings: I really felt for Calvin throughout the entire episode because to him it really seems as if his best friend and girlfriend are stabbing him in the back and sneaking around together. Of course, later we learn that it’s just for the school play but to him, it looks as if it is completely the opposite. Nico Greetham does an excellent job of performing these scenes of heartbreak and emotion when he is bothered by both Hayley and Preston not noticing he is bothered. You can really see the emotions on his face when he sees them kiss and hold hands. You can especially see this as well when has his discussion with Mick or when he refuses to eat and Levi notices because he always eats! Good job Nico!

Missing Memories: These moments were pretty hilarious including the first moment when Brody saw Wolvermean and ran away like a scaredy cat. Later, when they get into the base Hayley is completely amazed at Redbot and awkwardly gives him a high-five which made me laugh. Levi attempts to teach the memory-less Rangers to fight again and of course, Peter Sudarso steals the background shows as he takes Levi’s hat and mocks him with it! Let’s not forget the moment when Brody goes to kick at Preston and instead goes flying backward. Sarah get off your phone!
These little moments make me happy cause I know they are totally ad-libbed!

Mick’s Lesson: As Calvin reveals what is wrong with him to Mick he tells him that earlier he had seen Hayley and Preston holding hands and kiss (well, on the cheek)! He jumps to the conclusion that she’s cheating on him and calls Preston a jerk!
Mick drops a mallet on his foot and freaks out that it hurts and most likely will forever, he can’t walk and someone will have to replace him as shop teacher! Ahhhhh, Mick! You sly dog, jumping to conclusions!
Here we are again with this epic mentor teaching Calvin that he needs to get all the facts, in this case, the memory orbs from Wolvermean, and simply talk to Hayley and Preston before he jumps to any conclusions!
Good work Mick!

Romeo & Juliet: Aww wasn’t it sweet to see these two act the play out together? It was also so sweet to see Calvin react to them and finally realize that he was wrong about the woman he loves and one of his best friends. It was quite satisfactory to see him reunite with Hayley and be proud of her and celebrate her victory in the school play. I just love their relationship throughout this entire series and they are quickly becoming my favorite Power Rangers couple!
Seeing Preston and Calvin mend their friendship was a plus as well, I didn’t like the friction! All was well in Ranger world!

Victor & Monty: Not only was Victor incredibly annoying trying to steal the part of Romeo from Preston, even without auditioning; it was also pretty outrageous that he was offered understudy out of nowhere! I mean, no one else auditioned for the part? As if that scene could not get any worse, the overacting from Victor was atrocious and then we were forced to listen to a horrible mock-rendition of “Bulk and Skull’s Theme” that was sub-par at best. I know that Noam Kaniel is attempting to capture the magic that was Mighty Morphin’ and shove it into Super Ninja Steel, but this was just bad. Victor and Monty will never be Bulk and Skull, there I said it.
Moving on, Monty comes up with a plan to get rid of Preston when the art club threw out a crate they received from South Africa which they plan to trap him inside of and ship him to his house. Luckily for us, the plan backfired on them and instead, they were trapped inside! Then the label for Preston’s house fell off and the deliverers instead shipped them both off to South Africa where they meet with a ferocious lion!
Sadly, we learn in Episode 7 that they come back.

Sneaky Fox: After the defeat of Wolvermean, Madame Odius picked up his powerful Ninja Medallion without him knowing. She seems to have a secret plan up her sleeves! Hmmm, what could it be?

As I said earlier, I really enjoyed this episode because it began an arc and we really need this in Super Ninja Steel right now!
Especially since the Galactic Ninjas themselves are rather formidable because they are also Ninjas, Wolvermean wasn’t actually defeated and it seems as if Odius has some sort of plan with their Ninja Medallions!
I was also really happy with the music that played this episode, besides the one I hated (you know which), it really seemed to make the episode a lot more epic and helped the action along a lot more!
I can’t wait to see how the Galactic Ninjas continue to challenge the Rangers as the season progresses even after we head into the dark recesses of the hiatus!
Thanks for reading! Until next time!
