Thanks to Lionsgate & Saban Brands I was lucky enough to get an Advanced copy of the Best Buy Exclusive version of the Power Rangers Movie! Let me tell you that I am in love with the menu style of the Blu-Ray (even the DVD menu, which is different, is really cool as well!) The Blu-Ray menu plays the newer version of “Go-Go Power Rangers” and plays scenes from the movie inside the morphing-grid viewing globe” while Zordon zips around the ship! Very cool!
So I’ve dissected the packaging for you! Take a look at the inside of the packaging!
The discs are decorated a la posters we’ve seen before but the insert horizontal image of the Zords and Rangers is pretty awesome in the background!
Inside
I gotta say, I am really happy with the design of the outside of the packaging. The clear slip cover is just gorgeous and the lightning bolt is amazing to look at and then when they combine it’s even better! I have been enamored with the look of Rita since we first got press images of her so the back of the cover is perfection to me! You’re even treated to Zordon’s mug when you open the flap!
Poster Cards With Trivia & Bios
I’m a little on the fence with the poster cards included in this combo pack. When we first saw images of the Best Buy Exclusive it sort of appeared as if there were more original artwork to be included in this deal. Instead, we just got a rehash of the posters we’ve seen before. I am happy to get the Rita card because, well, it’s gorgeous. I will say though that the cards are metallic and do look very good. The cards do include a bio for each character and a small piece of trivia for them as well. You can read what it says by clicking the image.
Morphin’ Legacy’s Recommendation?
This is a hard one. It really depends on what is going to sell you.
On one hand Best Buy’s version’s packaging is gorgeous and you get the artwork cards.
On a second hand Target’s steel book is another good looking set as well.
BUT on the other hand Wal-Mart’s exclusive’s packaging is pretty basic, however you do get that extra bit of content.
