Dino Super Charge Episode 14 “Silver Secret” Review

Episode Review

“Silver Secret” delivered a good balance between filler and great plot development; something I had been “complaining” about for a few episode reviews. While there was a random bit of filler intervened in between the epic plot development, the filler didn’t seem to bother me. In fact, the filler was rather cute as most of the Dino Charge filler ends up to be. The Rangers finally learn the secret of the Silver Ranger, meet a new ally Zenowing and we finally get somewhere with two star-crossed Ranger lovers! Let’s take a look back at this fairly great episode!

The Silver Betrayal: I really rather enjoyed the betrayal aspect of this storyline with the Silver Ranger. It was really rather clever how the Rangers figured out that he was lying about not creating a Titano Charger. It was even more menacing for the audience to find out, even though at this point it was pretty obvious, that Doomwing was the Silver Ranger, because his wicked laugh was totally badass!

Zenowing: It was also interesting that Zenowing has a similar trouble to that of Heckyl/Snide. This seems to be a pattern throughout Dino Charge and Dino Super Charge. Beings stuck inside of other beings has been a thing since Ivan was stuck inside of Fury, then dual personalities with Heckyl and Snide and now suddenly Doomwing and Zenowing have been separated.
When the two of them were separated it got me wondering if this process would be used later on to separate Heckyl and Snide?

Learning To Sing: I only wanted to bring this scene up for two reasons; Shelby’s singing voice when she plugs her nose is hilarious and WTF, Miss Morgan studied Music??

Chase Teaches Tyler: I absolutely loved this scene from the adorable little dog to adorable little Chase teaching Tyler all the moves to be an N-Zed Boy! But, what was even more enduring was the lesson learned here, which was just for Tyler to be himself and Shelby would like him back. Which was indeed the lesson of the entire episode. Also, Tyler’s singing was hilariously horrible.

Trying Out For The N-Zed Boys: The main filler aspect of the episode was pretty cute with Shelby attempting to impress the N-Zed Boy, Rata. Tyler was close behind attempting to impress her as well. The on-screen chemistry is totally there between Brennan Mejia and Camille Hyde. Brennan was hilarious attempting to perform by himself on the stage and the duo performance was even more adorable. I found it pretty funny when Shelby suggested picturing the judges as pineapples, because well that’s pretty damn random.

Tyler & Shelby: This moment was rather incredible and was both a beautiful moment for the characters but was a shining moment for the actors as well. Most people would point out that such a moment hasn’t been shared since Kimberly and Tommy, but I would remind you that such heated exchanges have occurred between Summer and Dillon (RPM) as well and many more.
I absolutely loved the pep talk that Shelby gave Tyler here that he  was already a hero to her by simply being himself and the powerful Red Ranger he was and being an N-Zed Boy was no where near the answer.

Kodus Interruptus: Oh Koda, this was just adorable but also really annoying. I’m sure you all felt it too. 😛

Doomwing VS Tyler: One thing needs to be said about this fight, the footage and the music was beautiful to hear and look at! Wonderful editing! It was both exciting and wondrous!
When Doomwing was defeated by the Rangers he saw an even deeper defeat when Arcanon basically called him useless now that he can no longer morph, I wonder what will become of him now?

All together this episode was very entertaining even down to the filler and especially down to the  action and plot development. My only criticism came down to the tiny scene where the Rangers attempted to trick Doomwing and Arcanon to their location, that acting was pretty terrible, but that was on purpose so there can’t be much criticism from that. Even the singing scenes were entertaining because they showcased the growing affection between Shelby and Tyler, which is steadily growing as we saw with the hand-held at the very end of the episode.
As RuPaul, would say; I  can’t to see how this turns out!
