Ressha Sentai ToQger: Station 2 Review

TOOT-TOOT RESSHA SENTAI TOQGER. Let’s go! Today’s episode is entitled: We Are Here.

We begin today’s episode with Right and the team trying to figure out their supposed deaths.

Interjecting into the scene is Wagon, a robot train attendant, who semi reminds me of Candelira from Kyoryuger. 🙂

AND SHE SAID, “OH MY.” LIKE GOOD JOB PEOPLE.

She hands out lunch boxes and tells Tokatti that he looks old/tired. hahaha But Hikari is not having any of this due to his worrying about death.

He points out to the team that they cannot remember anything from after that tree scene as children up till now.

Suddenly the train goes dark for a second and Mr. Conductor explains that they are entering a train station/town that has been taken over by the Shadow Line, specifically a Shadow Monster.

And that the Shadow Line wants to take over as many towns as possible to expand it’s darkness. The darkness is fueled by rage, sorrow, hatred, jealously, and regret. Sound familiar?

They stop at the train station and throw the ToQgers asses off the train. lolz HOPE Y’ALL SAVE THE CITY. BYE.

As the team enters the city, they find people dueling each other to death by the flip of a coin from Saber Shadow, a Shadow Line monster. Their sorrow from duel fighting feeds the darkness.

Crows enter to fight and then Right and Kagura boTH LOOK AT THE CAMERA AND SAY THEIR LINE. I LOVE THIS.

The team morphs into the ToQgers to save the town from darkness.

Right calls upon the Scope Express as a boost attack for the ToQBlaster.

The attack sends train tracks with bullets through each Crow.

The team decides to switch trains/colors for different weapons and Ticket the Monkey says this. THEY KNOW TOO MUCH.

During the fight with the Crows, ToQ2’s train tracks from around his helmet fall down like his glasses do. HE IS BEAUTIFUL AND I WANT TO MARRY HIM.

ToQ1 makes a deal with Saber Shadow for a duel at a later time.

The team then finds a sad boy who has last his parents. The team tries to console the boy, but he tells the team that once everyone has dueled and died, the whole city disappears. This causes some concerned faces from the ToQgers.

Back at the Shadow Line base, Baron Nero is thrilled with the spread of darkness through the town and it’s potential to engulf the world!

While General Schwarz and Baron Nero discuss dark matters, Madame Noire yells at Grita in the background for losing weight. WTF. hahahaha

Back in the dueling city, Hikari says that they’re dead since they have no memories. Tokatti doesn’t agree because since they have pulses and appetites.

Right tries to lift Hikari’s spirit, but he is not having it. He doesn’t want to be a wandering spirit forever.

Right is optimistic that things will work out, but Hikari is not agreeing. As Right walks away, Hikari wants to argue more but Mio stops him and tells him to talk about it on another day. Another day, indeed.

The team goes back to fight the Crows and Saber Shadow. The team transforms and Mio reminds Hikari that each team member has a reason for being on the team. This lifts Hikari’s spirit and passion.

Then a great train duel begins between ToQ1 on the Red and Green Ressha trains and Saber Shadow on the Shadow Line.

As the two fight, Wagon beats on the ceiling with a giant fork. IDK, but I laughed for a long time at this. She’s like some angry Italian lady beating on the roof with a broom to tell them to be quiet. hahaha

Suddenly, the trains go through a tunnel and Saber Shadow’s swords are cut in half. haha

This allows ToQ1 a chance to destroy him. Right destroys him and Saber Shadow grows, so the team calls upon ToQ-Oh. They then have a gun drawl duel.

Saber Shadow cheats and fires early which causes Right to use an emergency move where the trains separate quickly to miss the bullets. hahaha!

The team finishes him off with Crossing ToQ Shot! The town goes back to normal and the team heads back to the Rainbow Line. The team asks Mr. Conductor if the reason why they’re dead is because they were residents of a town that was taken over by darkness.

Mr. Conductor answers yes and Ticket no. WE MAY NEVER KNOW. JK we’ll probably find out next week. haha

Review

This episode was different. The pace of this episode seemed a lot slower and more serious, which is fine, but threw me off a little. I love the addition of Wagon and the whole train station/town taken over by a monster of the week theme. I also still love the characters and suit morphs! Overall this episode was solid, but not as good as the premiere. I would say a 7 out of 10. I wonder how long until ToQ6-Orange is added to the cast? I’m also curious if they really are dead or just day dreaming children. Dealing with death right off the bat makes me believe they’re not dead and the plot is far bigger than what the writers are trying to show us. Just a thought.
