Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 39 Review

Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 39 – “All Together! 10 Great Dinosaur Powers!”

Starting off today’s episode, we find a demonic man holding Deathryuger’s dark flute from the summer Kyoryuger musical that has not been subbed yet. I will try my best to fill in the wholes with my knowledge when I can. This man then takes are the nourishing water from the Debo base.

After this, we find that Ramirez is back to full power right when powerful paramonsters begin to attack.

At the spirit base, King recieves a postcard from Mikoto, an Idol singer who’s  been on tour since the summer and a possible love interest for Daigo King.

During this, we have flashbacks from the summer musical of King fighting Deathryuger (his battery beast was Tobaspino).

And we learn that Mikoto’s (Meeko) singing saved the team.

Yayoi is not happy about this possible love interest.

So Amy and Yayoi follow King to the airport to find that Mikoto has brought roses.

Yayoi smells BS and shots at the roses.

Which causes Mikoto to whip out her deadly flute. And for Deathryuger to make an appearance.

Deathryuger appears and he is pissed.

Deathryuger explains that he kidnapped Mikoto while on a tour overseas and turned her bad.

And that after his trip back from hell, he has to down refreshing debo water all the time now.

Deahtryuger attacks Yayoi, Amy, and King while Mikoto plays the evil flute.

King runs over to confront her but is transported to another dimension to find Mikoto locked in a form of bubble. He tries to hum a melody from the musical, but it doesn’t work.

As King comes back to reality, Amy protects Daigo from a Deathryuger attack and gets hurt badly.

Braggias takes the team back to the spirit base to recoup, while Deathryuger tries to broadcase his evil flute music over the airwaves to create a massive evil army.

Amy and Yayoi bond back at the base while the men go and fight Deathryuger.

Yayoi reflects that maybe she needs to change her thinking and trusts King’s heart.

Which causes Amy and Yayoi’s melodies to harmonize. I LOVE GIRL POWER AND YAYOI. lksjfdl;sadjfnms,.fvb

While the boys are still taking a beating from Deathryuger, Amy and Yayoi show up to tell them that all 10 Kyoryugers must harmonize together to take Deathryuger down!

Torin, Ramirez, and Tessai appear and the team assembles. They hold hands and sing their Kyoryuger harmony, which shatters Mikoto’s darkness trance.

King runs up to Mikoto to hug her and FRIEND ZONED. Maybe King really is gay.

The team transforms and I died of happiness. This is the first time everyone has been transformed AND together.

During this, Deathryuger tries to take Mikoto back but King saves her. She then gives him Tobaspino’s beast battery to use with KyoryuCarnival!

King uses the battery and uses a special samba carnival attack!

Then, for the first time again, ALL 10 Kyoryugers together use the 10 Voltasaur Victory Maximum Finish! SO PRETTY.

Deathryuger uses refreshing water and grows, while Mikoto dances/singing on a hill like a JPop video. Because of her singing, Tobaspino appears and King gets the battery. SUR-FUCKING-PRISE.

Yayoi’s reaction is life.

Tobaspino along with Bunpachy and Ankydon form Spino Daioh!

The team destroys Deathryuger with a boomerang. Bomb.

After the battle, King is sad that he can’t spend time with Mikoto.

AND YAYOI SAYS THIS. OMFG. DEAD. I LOVE HER SO MUCH.

Review

Having not seen the Kyoryuger musical yet (hopefully soon), the Deathryuger and Mikoto stuff was a bit confusing. BUT. What it lacked in unfamiliarity for me, IT EARNED IN AWESOME 10 PERSON ROLE CALLS AND YAYOI LINES. Yayoi in this episode was basically life. The last one was the best. I just want her to get some King action SOOOO bad. She honestly is my favorite part of this series. And yes, I know I complain about not having her enough on the show, but she’s literally amazing. She’s funny, smart, beautiful, and just fantastic. I  did appreciate them weaving in Deathryuger into the story though, that was a nice touch. Overall, I loved this episode. It’s what Kyoryuger is at it’s best: funny, intense, exciting, colorful, and musically strong. 10/10. DONE. This could have been the last episode of the series and I’d be good with it. It was that good.

NEXT WEEK IS THE 40th EPISODE. SHIT ABOUT TO GO DOWN.

Also, thank you for reading. I can’t believe I have done over 25 episode reviews! I’m excited to watch the next sentai with y’all too – Tokkyuger! Toot toot motherfuckers !(That’ll probably be my new ending line. hahaha

Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1. Stay Brave!
