Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 37 Review

Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 37 – “Revenge! The Phantom Deboss Legion”

Does anybody watch ABC’s “Revenge” on Sunday nights? I hope this episode is just like that (some gay love triangles, murder, etc).

ANYWAYS.

On this week’s episode, we start off with Chaos informing us that he is taking a leave of absence and Dogold is now in command.

Dogold then explains that Chaos is running out of energy to make monsters so now they have to get him more intense energy!

Back at the spirit base with the Kyoryugers, the team heals from the recent battles while Souji trains to be more like his idol Torin.

To get this new intense energy, Luckiero sets off with two metal rods to find the rest of the ghost monsters. TOO CUTE.

And he finds my FAVORITE MONSTER (Besides Kewtie): STRICTEACH (strict teacher). Plus Sportesprit (Basketball monster) and Nightmaher (bad dreams monster).

Back with Souji, Torin explains that Souji cannot do Toin’s final finisher move because it could destroy Souji. #DivaStatus

Back at the Debo classroom, Stricteach beats Nightmaher and gives him a new pillow that will allow him to study the Kyoryugers better. I LOVE WTF MONSTERS. AND NOW THEY’RE TOGETHER. YES.

During Utchy’s talk to Souji, the rest of the Kyoryugers take on the Debo teacher association. During this, Nightmaher uses his new weapon, the strange bedpillow, that switches people into different bodies. If only Lindsay Lohan was here to show us the right way. #FreakyFriday.

AND I DIED. King is now in Amy’s body and is touching his new “curves.” Ian is now in Nossan’s body and makes some great old people jokes.

Once Utchy and Souji show up, they switch bodies and it’s cool. But then King as Amy squats and I lost it. OH MY GOD. The gender swap is the best. And the shifting of bodily poses is great too. I pray this episode makes it into the American adaptation.

And it just gets better.

As the team falls to shambles, Torin lets everyone know that the pillow must be destroyed to make everything better.

The following picture sums it up.

The Debo Teacher Association challenges the team to a faceoff. So the Kyoyugers do a really awesome roll-call.

The swapping of poses is FANTASTIC.

I DIED.

Suddenly, the Nightmaher in front of them is a paramonster impostor and Nightmaher pops out behind them and swaps the bodies some more.

So the team swaps weapons and tries to ward off the group, but then suddenly Torin shows up and puts an end to these shenanigans.

Torin reminds Stricteach that  he can’t swap with the other Kyoryugers because he’s Deboss. But this loophole causes Nightmaher to switch Torin with Stricteach.

Before Stricteach as KyoryuSilver uses the final attack to destroy the Kyoryugers, Souji stops the attack because he knows the sword technique well. BAM.

Souji then uses the Torinity Strazor on the KyoryuSilver impostor and helps the team break the pillow and swap everything back to normal. With everyone back to their original bodies, Torin uses his special attack and destroys Stricteah. The team then comes together and uses the Seven Voltasaur Victory Maximum Attack to destroy Nightmaher and Sportesprit.

Luckiero grows the three monsters and this plot hole was discussed.

The team calls on Gigant Kyoryuzin and destroys the trio using the Super Voltasaur Charge, All Gigant Explosion. #Bye

Finally, the team heads back to the spirit base for a rest where Torin tells Souji he’ll teach him how to be a better swordsman which elates Souji.

Review

YESSSSSSS. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN EPISODE LIKE THIS FOR FOREVER. I loved this episode. It was funny, light hearted, and let Souji have some character growth. Only thing lacking was Yayoi really. I loved the body swap stuff and Debo Teacher monsters. Perfect episode almost. I’m going to have to give this a 9.5/10. I mean, really. Episodes like this is what I love about Kyoryuger and makes me want to watch more. AND NEXT WEEK’S HAS A CANDELIRA THEME FASHION DESIGNER MONSTER. *flies into the sun screaming with happiness*

Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1. Stay Brave!
