Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 34 – “He’s Back! Bragigas Appears!
To start off today’s exciting episode, Luckiero admits that he let all the stones to be found and runs into our monster of the week, Debo Bigghawl. (GET IT, BECAUSE HE’S GOING TO CATCH A BIG HAUL. SEE.)
Chaos informs Luckiero that Bigghawl is going to catch the “legendary one.”
Ramirez and Tessai show up with the 12th stone and Torin gets a little dramatic.
Torin begins to tell the story of Big’Ol Bragigas.
Once upon a time, Gaurdma rose to protect Deboss….
….Who killed all of Bragigas’ friends. This caused Bragigas to cry. (Yes. A fucking metal dinosaur.)
And the tears turned the dying dinosaurs into stone. TEARS FROM THE CRYING METAL DINO MECHA.
Gragigas then used used the GIANT CANNON to destroy Gaurdma as well as silence Deboss.
Gaurdma then dragged Bragigas into the fiery pits of hell. How sweet.
The crater that dragged Bragigas into hell is now Lake Madou where the team finds Bigghawl fishing for a certain something.
Tessai explains that the gates of HELL is just a couple feet away. SO MUCH HELL.
King’s Dad shows up to stop Dogold from hurting King and to bring back Torin’s old friend.
But then King’s Dad explains that he had to go find a flute to play the melody of the guardians….
….The flute has a fishing hook that goes fly fishing when played. I DONT EVEN KNOW ANYMORE.
King helps his father retrieve the 13th stone, but Bigghawl reals in something important as well….
The lake drains and Bragigas lays at the bottom, but is awakened when the last stone becomes a tear to his eye. TEARS.
Bigghawl wants to fight now and the team does a great roll-call.
And Bigghawl is destroyed by an Eight team Voltasaur Victory Maximum attack! Where KyoryuViolet is, NO ONE KNOWS.
Bragigas rises and the team is transported to the Spirit Base, which we learn is in Bragigas. PLOT TWIST.
The Guardian Beat Batteries come to Bragigas’ help in what I think is a pretty awesome scene.
Bragigas then uses attacks from the guardian batteries to help push back Bigghawl.
Finally, Bragigas transforms into Gigant Brachiohhhh which looks pretty awesome to me.
And uses his Giga Brave finish to slice Bigghawl into pieces.
Bragigas then walks off into the sunset as Tessai & Ramirez say Torin is going to help him. A little random, yes.
We also learn that Bigghawl retrieved something to probably wake DeboGaurdma back from the grave.
Review
This episode had a lot going on. Reviving Bragigas, the lore of the Bragigas/Gaurdma battle, the fact that the spirit base is in Bragigas, Bragigas’ mecha attacks, King’s Dad, Eight team Voltasaur Victory Maximum attack, some puns, Bigghawl mysteriously fishing for Gaurdma’s trigger. I mean, no wonder this review took a lot long than usual. haha I liked how they’re finally bringing together the main story plots, but I’m curious what the end game of the series will be. Or if further episodes might get into the DeboCommander’s background stories finally. All in all, the episode was all over the place while still being an exciting story; 7.5 out of 10! (Sorry nothing beats Yayoi/KyoryuViolet’s fist appearance. haha)
