Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 32 – “Victory! A Sports Showdown”
So this episode is about a basketball team monster. LET’S GET STARTED.
We start with the team celebrating the amount of charging beast batteries that they have. Torin informs the group that Bragigas will not awaken until all spirit fossils are found.
My favorite, Yayoi, reveals her newest batteries to the team. One is named the Victory Beast Battery and the other, the Maximum Beast Battery. WHAT POWER DO THEY HOLD??
We then meet our monster of the week, Debo Sportesprit, who is a related to Sporty Spice….. Anyways, our monster is made of sports equipment. Yep. I knew at this monster I would be in love with this episode.
Sportesprit unleashes his sporty paramonsters so the Kyoryugers decide to use battery #23 to duplicate themselves to take on the large amount of Debos. Also, can this be a versus/team up movie? Like just doubles of this season? Okay? Good.
The Kyoryugers then duel them to a 5-on-5 basketball game. That’s normal. Also, the American version of this season: I pray for you nightly. haha
Back at the Debo base, Aigaron beats Dogold while Candelira is crying in a corner from the violence. Like, does this not remind anyone else of domestic violence or something? Also, do you know how many feelz I have for Canderlia? It’s a lot. haha
Back to the Kyoryugers, the team practices while Utchy cooks them lunch. I love him.
King then realizes that to become a better basketball team, they must shake-up their team dynamics (METAPHOR).
Torin then realizes that Sportesprit is just a diversion so Dogold can try to steal one of the spirit fossils!
As the Kyoryugers fight Sportesprit, King unleashes one of the best slam dunks ever.
The Kyoryugers morph and King summons carnival power plus he summons the new Victory Beast Battery!
The power-up hurts Sportesprit, but Luckiero gives him some rejuvenating water like always. The Kyoryugers plus KyoryuViolet summon their mechas and we get some awesome split team cock-pit scenes.
Finally, the team summons Rocket Kyoryuzin and we get this awesome shot. Sportesprit goes BOOM and the team heads back to the base to celebrate their win while Utchy practices his basketball dribble.
Review
All together, I really enjoyed this episode. Like I’ve said, I really appreciate the odd and obscure episodes of Kyoryuger while also giving us some character development. The two new batteries, Victory and Maximum, makes me appreciate CarnivalRed more since the whole team gives him their power. Also, having Yayoi in any episode makes me infinitely happier. AND SHE’S IN THE NEXT ONE TOO. Maybe my prayers have been answered? haha Probs not. Overall, an awesome episode and deserves an 8.5/10.
