I have to get it out-of-the-way and let everyone know that I loved this episode very much! Two of my other favorite episode have been “Who’s Crying Now?” & “Ultra Power” for the sheer action and power displayed in the show, not to mention their impacts on the story progression and focus on the Rangers growing in some fashion. This is one thing I do enjoy about Power Rangers the most is that the characters attempt to grow with a non-stop battle between monsters, Rangers and Megazords! The Rangers gain a new Megazord and a new team dynamic in this episode, let’s take a look!
Back in their lair, Bigs and Bluefur begin to energize the Aurora Box with the power of the sludge that created them!
The duo plans on showing Vrak what they can do by covering the Earth in slime!
Back at the Command Center, Tensou is fast at work to create a new weapon!
Gosei urges Tensou to hurry, but Tensou worries Gosei is pushing him too hard.
As Bigs and Bluefur begin their assault on the city, Bigs spreads his slime and climbs atop the Aurora Box.
Commanding Bluefur to spin him, the slime spreads across the city unleashing the intense smell!
RoboKnight appears and attempts to protect the city by blasting the slime away, but sadly the slime only spreads worse!
The Rangers show up and are confronted by Bigs and Bluefur who mock them for creating the very slime that will destroy them!
The Rangers morph and unleash their strongest power after a battle with the Toxic Beasts!
A Dynamic Victory Charge was not enough to destroy the power of the Aurora Box!
Bigs wraps himself around the Rangers as Bluefur sneaks up and bashes them with his club!
Another powerful blast from the Toxic Beasts knocks the Rangers out of their powers!
To demonstrate their power Bigs spreads his ooze over the broadcast tower along with the entire city!
Slowly it will spread over the entire planet!
RoboKnight appears and uses his Freeze Card to stop the slime from spreading!
But Bigs decides to show the Rangers the Aurora power and sent a powerful blast at the Rangers, but suddenly:
RoboKnight blocks the Rangers and saves them from the blast!
While RoboKnight’s energy is depleted the other Rangers know they must race to stop the slime before the tower unfreezes!
Suddenly, a rain downpours and unfreezes the tower!
The Rangers reconvene and attempt to freeze the tower once more!
Success! It froze the tower once more but suddenly, Big and Bluefur appeared once more!
The Rangers morph into Ultra Mode and take them on again!
The Rangers come up with a plan to best them and suddenly destroy Bigs’ staff!
The Rangers’ Ultimate Strike proved too powerful and knocked the Toxic Beasts into a wall nearly decimating Bigs!
Bluefur called to his friend and found that Bigs had been sent inside the box!
With that, the two disappear!
Back in the Command Center, Tensou is still hard at work on the new project!
In the morning Bluefur has a big surprise for the Rangers! The Aurora Box has grown Mega and is now attached onto a large building spreading his slime throughout the city!
Bigs has a new form! His form has spread throughout the entire city instead!
Soon it will spread and turn the Earth into one giant Bigs!
The Rangers take on an angered Bluefur and get bested for the most part, but RoboKnight tells them to scale the tower and destroy Bigs!
Troy leads the others into the building!
As the Rangers race into the tower to find Bigs they meet a gaggle of Loogies!
When they finish with them, Bigs teases and lure them into an elevator!
Suddenly, after morphing into Ultra Mode, the Rangers find a strange being hanging from the ceiling!
It reveals itself to be Bigs inside of the Aurora Box who takes the Rangers prisoner and drains their power!
But with their Ultra Power the Rangers were able to break free from the tentacles!
Meanwhile, RoboKnight ends his battle with Bluefur and uses the Knight Dynamic to send him flying!
With their Ultra Power, the Rangers sent a powerful Victory Charge and destroyed Bigs!
Vrak sends down the Zombats and makes Bluefur grow to avenge his fallen comrade!
RoboKnight morphs into the Gosei Grand Megazord!
Now that the Rangers are trapped with no way out, the new weapon is ready and takes off from Gosei’s base!
Suddenly, inside the darkness, the Rangers recognize the oncoming spaceship that lands before them!
Gosei has come for them and with a new weapon!
The Rangers call their Ultra Zords and combine them with the new space ship!
Their bravery has unlocked the new Gosei Ultimate Command Ship!
The Rangers fly into battle with their new ship and join the fight against Bluefur with RoboKnight!
After Bluefur knocks out RoboKnight and separates his Megazord combination, the Rangers destroy the Aurora Box and blasts their way out!
When the Rangers arrive the ship morphs into Megazord mode ready to take on Bluefur once and for all!
Going into battle the Rangers destroy his club once and for all!
The Rangers use their new power and fire an Ultimate Strike!
With the power of their Ultra Zord and the Ultimate Megazord the Rangers finish off the last of the Toxic Beasts!
Victory over the Toxic Beasts!
Back at the Command Center the Rangers thank Tensou and Gosei and of course Jake wants to take the Megazord on a joy ride.
What else lies ahead for the Rangers?
Final Thoughts
What can I say about this episode. It was packed full of action, was immensely entertaining and made me happy. I have little to no complaints or even much to say about this. I cannot express how much I loved seeing Gosei Ultimate and the Rangers experience its awesome power! Seeing the Ultra Zords a little more close AND seeing the Rangers actually feel a little challenged! The Rangers, while it felt easy in general, worked through several challenges including how to hand the new powered up villains, freeze the slime, take on Bluefur and escape the Aurora Box!
One thing I noticed, that a lot of people I talked to really didn’t touch on, was the fact that RoboKnight saw an intrinsic change in his character. In previous episodes he has been all about himself and protecting the Earth. He wants to defend the Earth alone and has shown several episodes that he is solo. However, we saw two differences during “Gosei Ultimate” where he proves that he is indeed joining the team! First, when Bigs and Bluefur are attacking the Rangers he shouts “We Are A Team!’ and secondly, RoboKnight takes a full blast from the Aurora Box in order to protect the Rangers! The RoboKnight we met in Episode 8 is not the same robo we have now. I like this change and was hoping for it!
In regards to Bigs and Bluefur, I do feel as if they did not get as much staying power as their Sentai counterparts but their reign ended with a bang. I did enjoy Bluefur and Bigs and I think they served their purpose and from their deaths I can’t wait to see what the Villains have planned next. Sadly, I think that the end of these two villains had to die in order to make room for more intense storylines and as I’ve said before I want to see more of Vrak!
All together this episode was awesome and I have very little to nitpick. The action was enough to keep me entertained and the Rangers’ new arsenal was enough to keep me going and wanting more! Well, what did you think?
