Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 28 – “Ahhh, Torin! A 100 Million Year Old Vendetta”
First we are treated to Candelira, in human form, trying out to be an idol. If she doesn’t come back in sentai as a ranger in future seasons, I’ll be sad. KEEP SMILING.
Luckiero lets us know that they copied Canderlira’s human form off of an idol magazine.
PS Hurricane Blue and Go-Buster Yellow had idol pictures on the wall. *sobs*
Back at the Kyoryu base, the team celebrates all their new power, but Torin is feeling weaker…
Torin leaves the base and King runs after him, but finds his father instead who gives him a bag of fossilized gems.
His father also asks King if he is ready to believe in Torin, no matter what. FORESHADOWING.
Endorf starts attacking the city and gives Candelira a new, dark, sultry song to sing (just a slower version of Candelira’s song/it’s everything).
DeboSaurhunter attacks the team and King & Nossan use double batteries for some pretty badass moves.
During this, Endorf uses Candelira’s slow song to capture Torin and put him under his power.
Dogold appears and tells them Endorf’s plans for like no reason. The team sends deinonochasers to find where Endorf has taken Torin.
The team finds Torin, but is too late and Lord Chaos cuts off one of his wings. Essentially, this is revenge for Torin cutting off one of Chaos’ flames things many years ago.
The team attacks Endorf, Chaos, Saurhunter, and Luckiero, but then possessed Torin starts attacking the team as well.
This about sums it all up.
Torin yells at the team to go before he hurts them, but then….
Chaos informs them that the song is controlling Torin and that….
…the song is bringing out Torin’s inner evil.
HE THEN GOES ON TO SAY THAT TORIN WAS A DEBO MONSTER BACK IN THE DAY
AND THAT HE’S CHAOS’ BROTHER. Okay. Wow. I actually did not see that coming. I think I threw my chair when I heard this.
Torin betrayed the DeboLegion and sealed Lord Deboss away many years ago, siding with good.
Chaos then shows the Kyoryu team that he’s telling the truth by throwing Luckiero’s regenerative water on Torin because it only grows Deboss members bigger.
After Torin grows, King gathers the team and accidentally hurts Torin while fighting him. THEY MIGHT HAVE JUST KILLED THEIR LEADER. WHAT. This episode was like that crazy Thanksgiving dinner with your dysfunctional family. Good lord.
Review
I have to say that I did not see Torin being Chaos’ brother coming, nor the team semi-destroying their leader while fighting him at the end. I also loved having Candelira perform a lot in person. She’s just the best. The story for this Sentai is really coming together, but dare I say I kind of miss Nossan, Souji, and Amy? I feel like we don’t hear from them much with all the new mechas and monsters all the time. Anyways, solid episode. 8/10.

Next week Yayoi fights with the team. That’s all that really matters. haha
