Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 22 – “Oh, No! Deboss Awakens”
This week the Kyoryugers face Deboss! AHHHHHH
Chaos decides to gather all the emotions collected so far, but they are still lacking fury and joy.
Chaos is worried that with Violet, the Kyoryugers are unstoppable unless he forces Deboss awake with the collected energy they have so far.
King talks to Plezuon to get to know him.
King then tells Plezuon that he looks like a cluster fuck mecha. haha
Nossan reminds King that Gabutyra might become jealous, but really I just wanted to screencap this joke.
Yayoi likes her some King.
And this reference is just magical.
I THINK WE HAVE A NEW SHOWMANCE BETWEEN AMY AND KING. OMG. But I kinda hate when a woman character hate another woman because they like the same guy. Just calm down, Ian is still single.
Anyways, Virsun creates a virus to attack Plezuon’s base.
We learn that it was Violet’s job to investigate/collect data on a planet that had been destroyed by the DebossLegion as well.
And we get an actually good explantation of why Plezuon is an aquatic/rocket ship/dinosaur mecha.
Virsun takes Luckyuuro’s gyro of replenishing water and creates more of it so to create a sustainable energy source for Deboss in the lake.
The Kyoryugers fight Dogold and some paramonsters on the dam. During this Amy decides that she might like King, but isn’t going to think about it and just let whatever happen.
While Yayoi is upgrading Plezuon, Virsun’s virus appears and attacks her. OH MY!
Deboss appears and the Kyoryugers defeat Virsun with DeinosGrander, but then Virsun jumps into the replenishing water and gets eaten by Deboss.
Virsun’s computer virus evaporates since Virsun has been destroyed….
Deboss frightens Kyoryuzin and the snap together combo falls apart. Even Raiden Kyoryuzin can’t put a dent into Deboss! King calls upon Plezuon, but does not come because he’s still asleep. The DeboCommanders see that the virus has evaporated and start attacking the base.
We are left on a cliff hanger with Yayoi, Plezuon, and the Kyoryugers all in grave danger.
I truly can not wait till this comes in the mail….
Review
Anyone else think Deboss looked like a repainted large paramonster? It was fine, but I wanted something a little scarier and more deathly than that. I enjoyed the music a lot in this episode because it played up the drama and darkness of it, but overall the episode was a little all over the place. Also at times I felt like they were stretching the episode so they could leave you on a cliffhanger, which is fine, but annoying when Debo leaders sound like an episode of Dragon Ball Z…. (No hate on DBZ, but sometimes Cell would talk for like 14 episodes.) I would say a 6/10 at best, but that’s just me….

Next week we finally get Rocket Kyoryuzin and it look pretty badass…..
