Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 21 – “Zuooon! The Return of Plezuon”
We meet KyoryugerViolet on a moon collecting rocks and is beamed onto his mecha dinosaur-ship, Plezon, like Star Trek. Yep, that’s right.
And start heading back to Earth. This mecha is everything this season is about. The WTF factor strikes again and I love it.
Chaos tells our Debo commanders that if they combine their powers and bring back the best past monsters, they can take on Violet.
KyoryuViolet talks to the Kyoryugers via Skype on the rock table. IDK WTF. Torin tells the Kyoryugers that 6 months ago he sent Violet into space to undertake an important mission, but at that moment is attacked by DeboMeteor.
This might the best monster roll call logo ever.
DeboMeteor, DeboVirsun, and DeboIceage make up the trio who made the dinosaurs extinct millions of years ago apparently. I love this. They attack the Kyoryugers with balls of death.
Violet shows up in the nick of time to help King. What a badass.
He tells Daigo that Plezuon is heading to the underwater base.
Then to destroy the Debo’s extinctioner balls, King wants to make Nossan become a human beach ball to deflect it.
But this graphic. I mean…..
Torin leads the group to Violet’s underwater base where we meet Violet’s granddaughter Yayoi. Ian, like always, has to hit on her, but she already knows all about him and puts him in his place.
Dr. Ulshade, aka KyoryuViolet, reminds me of an old Elvis…. Anyways, Torin introduces him as the man who created and manufactured the Gaburevolvers and batteries. Dr. Ulshade also gets too excited sometimes and throws out his back. Yep.
My mandatory Ian screen cap. Ian in his head: “OH MY, she can’t really like King and NOT ME.”
The DeboExtinctioners start attacking the city again and freeze/glue the gaburevolvers closed.
Dr. Ulshade appears and his Violet henshin is glorious; funny, extra dance-y, and over the top.
His roll call leaves him with his back thrown out, but it’s worth it. The main 6 Kyoryugers protect him, but once DeboMeteor grows, Dr. Ulshade gives King Plezuon due to his old age.
King destroys the Debo with Plezuon’s Zuon laser beam. A dinosaur space ship laser gun mecha. JUST SUPERB.
I am completely okay with Yayoi’s and King’s ship. Yep. I ship it.
Luckyuuro gets a phone call and foreshadows a Plezuon base attack. OH NO.
Review
This new mecha and episode were just great. Dr. Ulshade’s character is lovely……..But now we’re at 9 Kyoryugers, 8 of which have been men and 1 woman. Seriously, we should call this Super Sentai Sausage festival at this point. Just a thought. A pretty solid episode even if it isn’t Kewtie…. 8/10.
