Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 15 – “How frustrating! Dogold’s Ambition!”
We meet Nossan’s pompous high school best friend “Nakazato” who works at a robotics laboratory trying to create a sentient robot.
While Nossan is leaving with Yuuko, Dogold tries to strike Nossan with lightning, but is intercepted by his nemesis, Utchy.
Nossan tells the group to leave him alone so Yuuko doesn’t figure out his identity at the robotics lab. I wonder where this will lead…..
Amy comes up with the idea that Utchy will dress up as a handy helper to follow Nossan for help just in case, but also because Yuuko won’t know him! Utchy is very convincing…. Not. haha
I feel ya Nakazato.
Anyways, Nakazato tells Nosssan that’s he an imbecile (ie throws some shade), but Nossan realizes that the robot is feeding off of Nakazato’s anger…. DEBO MONSTER.
And Dogold gets Nakazato on his side.
G-Bo the robot along with two Cambeastians attack the Kyoryugers, but Luckiero shows up to make the Cambeastians’ clubs bigger! Oh my!
King decides to use beast battery #21 Archenolon to slow down everyone so Nossan can over come it with his great strength and save Nakazato!
Everyday of my life….
Back to the action, Nossan yells at Nakazato to stop helping Dogold because he wants to use it for evil! SURPRISE. Nakazato says no. surprise.
Dogold merges with G-Bo the robot to become even stronger!
Nossan shakes Nakazato to remember why he started his career in robotics. For the children. It’s always for the children.
Nakazato remembers and shuts down the robot to save Nossan from death.
The Kyoryuger’s call upon Kyoryuzin and Pteraidenoh Ankydon (first appearance) to fight a very large Cambeastian. Very beefy!
Review
I really have no clue how this episode could be used for an American adaptation other than the obvious Dogold plot. Maybe. I thought this episode was really fast paced, but for a Nossan depth story, it was a little weak and just okay. I mean, if it’s a Nossan-centric episode there should be some really bad jokes. But…. All in all, it was fine. 5.5/10
Sidenotes
I enjoy how Nossan didn’t want Yuuko to know he was a Kyoryuger, but morphed in front of Nakazato. Now, that makes sense!
