A few days ago, we were introduced to a mysterious “Shout Box” that held an unknown Power Rangers 20th anniversary announcement. Just recently, it was opened and announced that inside is a “Power Rangers Legacy” box-set, which features the first 20 seasons on DVD, stored in a to-scale MMPR Red helmet!

Spanning the first 20 seasons of the Power Rangers television series, this limited edition home entertainment collection features every Power Rangers episode, from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers Megaforce, boasting over 270 hours of action-packed entertainment across 98 DVDs. Housed in a collectible Red Ranger helmet, Power Rangers Legacy: The First 20 Years includes six DVDs spotlighting hours of bonus content, including brand-new featurettes as well as special archival material.”

Shout! Factory took the original helmet used in the show, and scanned it to create a clay replica sculpture. The DVDs are neatly stored in the back of the helmet, with 10 tins that hold 10 discs each. Brian Ward, a producer for Shout! Factory, has hinted that the tins are going to look like the Power Coins from the original series. Mr. Ward also tweeted earlier today that there are 2 empty disc slots for the Mighty Morphin’ and Turbo movies, to give fans the complete 20-year set.
Additionally,there are only going to be 2,000 of these sets made. Other information, including the price and information on the bonus features, will be released in the upcoming months from Shout! Factory and Saban Brands.
A lot of people flipped tables when they saw this announcement. Other people, however, were worried that this release might make separate boxed set releases (like seasons 1-7) cease to exist. Brian Ward has confirmed that they will still continue to make the boxed sets and individual releases by tweeting the following statement:
