“Unlock your inner Megaforce! For as long as evil has threatened the Earth, there have been teams of Power Rangers sworn to protect it. The Power Rangers Megaforce are the planet’s newest defenders. For the first time, experience the next chapter in the Power Rangers legacy in 3-D! Plus power up your rangers with the all-new card scanning feature! Go, Go Megaforce!”

So, let’s go through all of the basic functions and abilities of the game! The primary controls are mostly the same—A is for Attack and B is for jump. New controls, however, include Y to use the Mega Blaster and X to morph into Ultra Mode! Gameplay is similar to that of the Samurai DS game, as to where it is a single-player side-scroller. Loogies will appear at random for you to defeat. The number of Loogies you defeat will be counted on the bottom-right screen. This feature was also included in the Samurai DS game. Once you get through the levels, you face a final boss, and then a Megazord round, much like all of the other Power Rangers games we’ve seen on other platforms.

One of the new additions that this game has to offer is the use of the 3DS camera! The player will be able to align the camera to take a picture and morph into their favorite Megaforce Power Ranger! Additionally, you will be able to switch between characters during the levels themselves! Also, throughout the levels, you will be able to collect cameras and television boxes to unlock screenshots and clips from the show!

Honestly, though, one of the coolest additions this game can offer is supporting the ACG cards! Before starting a level, you can scan cards to give the Rangers a special boost or attack, which will last for a set duration (x amount of days). Each card will have a unique power-up!

As for Robo Knight, he will be unlocked later in the game, much like Antonio in the Samurai DS-platform game.

Personally, I have to say that I am really excited to see this release! Granted the Samurai DS game was a let-down, but all of the information thus far seems pretty promising! The release date given is “Fall 2013,” although online retailers have pre-orders set to ship on November 30th. Keep in mind the date is always subject to change. And don’t forget to check out the full article on RangerCrew’s Blog for more information!
