Many of you may not know, and many of you may, that there are a few fan favorite demo themes created for both Mystic Force and RPM before Dinsey settled on the themese used in the shows. I wanted to show you all both of those themes and give you a few of my thoughts on each of them. First is the Demo theme for Power Rangers Mystic Force:
This theme was created by Ron Wasserman who was best know for his work from MMPR- In Space and SPD. This theme was not used by Disney but is my favorite of the two. This theme, for me, actually feels a lot more in touch with how the theme of the show actually is and provides us with another rock theme that Wasserman is known for and is best at. After coming off SPD it was hard to accept an Rap theme song, even going into Operation Overdrive, as the main theme of a Power Rangers theme. However, it took me a few listens and most of the season to appreciate Mystic Force’s theme, but I have to say it is rather catchy once you get used to it. In this instance, I have to chose the Demo not only because I feel it is better, but Ron Wasserman is just the King of Power Ranger themes (not to mention his work in other show theme songs!)
Honestly, I could not tell you who the creator of this Demo theme is. If you have information about it please put it in the comments and I will add it to the site so this person gets credit. However. this theme for RPM was not used and instead was lost in favor of the Hard Rock version of the theme. The Rock theme is a little repetitive, saying very few words but has an awesome intro by Dr. K! Again, both themes have their merits, however I again love the Demo more. There is a lot of hate for the theme of RPM, yet a lot of love for the show itself. I do think that this theme is a little bit more peppy and does go along with the sound of the music of the day. Plus, the lyrics are too awesome to say!
