The Power Rangers could never have been what they were had it not been for the wise sage of Eltar, Zordon. After a great galactic war with Rita Repulsa, Zordon came to Earth to establish his command center with Alpha 5. Here, with the Power of Ninjor’s great power coins, they created the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from 5 teenagers with attitude. Zordon called himself and interdimensional being caught in a time warp. His energy/plasma tube keeps his contact with our dimension.
Zordon presided over the original teams, receiving a few setbacks over the years. (like being blown up) He pioneered the construction of the Zords as well as the morphers that tapped into the Morphin’ Grid with the help of Alpha 5. In Turbo, Zordon and Alpha were able to return to Altar and to assist in the war against Dark Spectre.

Zordon’s image was changed for MMPR: TM in 1995. Here is shown as white in the updated command center. During his fight with Ivan Ooze, Zordon energy tube was destroyed and he was sent into rapid aging. However, he was saved by the Rangers’ love for him and his tube was restored. However, none of this was used in continuity so it kind of didn’t mater, but hell it was fun!
During Power Rangers in Space, Zordon was captured by Dark Spectre and Astronema. Being held prisoner on Astronema’s ship, he was destroyed for the good of the universe by the Red Space Ranger, Andros. Zordon’s wave of good energy subsequently destroyed all the evil in the universe. That is until….Lost Galaxy.
Zyuranger’s Mentor “Barza” was shown in several flashback scenes said to be a young Zordon. It might be that the producers just didn’t edit correctly or that this was truly Zordon as a young wizard. I wish they had utilized Barza or a younger Zordon!
