While I still believe that Power Rangers Ninja Steel should’ve had a better lead up to the finale, I can also say that I was rather pleased with the way that this finale episode was handled. I felt that everything that I wanted at least was tied up nicely and ended in a way similar to the way that Power Rangers Dino Charge (not Super Charge) had. However, there is always something in the way to ruin a good thing and of course in my reviews you always know who and what I am talking about. But, the visuals, the story and the action were all contenders to make this episode one of the best of the season and thus making this a great finale episode period even with the little dislikes here and there. Let’s go over some of the best parts of the episode.
The 3 Red Rangers: I have to say that even in the slightest way that Brody really showed his courage during the first half of the episode when all was lost and his friends were kidnapped and they had lost their Power Stars to Galvanax. His courage flourished even further when he stood up to Galvy much more, taking his father’s sword, destroying his Power Star. From this it created two more Red Power Stars!
Amazingly, after the giant cloud had dissipated, another Red Ranger appeared with white/silver adorning his sash. It was revealed to be Mick! After all this time, Kelson Henderson had finally become a Ranger! What an exciting time to be alive and I must say that it was an exciting moment not only for the show but for Power Rangers history as well!
But, the Ninja Nexus Prism was not done with the surprises just yet! There was still one more Power Star left and it was revealed that yet another Red Ranger with Gold in his sash appeared! Brody’s father, Dane reunited with his sons and it was a tearful moment to see the family back together again! I have to say that once the three Red Rangers teamed up together and attacked Galvanax it was fantastic to see them fight as one and with the team!
Galvanax’s Rise and End: Galvanax was very whiny the entire time while he was battling the Rangers because their strength was eventually overcoming him especially with the addition of 2 new Red Rangers. One of his best moments was melting down the remaining Ninja Steel and drinking it to gain more power and he really did! He gained some incredible power that included dark looking teeth and claws that totally jacked the Rangers up! I love moments like these where the Rangers get oned up by the villains!
We had seen it before but this was some awesomeness when Cosmo actually got to Gigantify Galvanax! Cosmo was very excited to do this by the way and I was very excited to see it too! But, we all knew this was going to be his downfall. Unfortunately, there was no Zord battle with Galvanax which was kind of a let down. It was also a little strange that the Rangers used a Ninja Nexus Morph Attack in which they all spun themselves at Galvanax. After the success of Odius’ magnet beam taking most of the power out of him, it was this attack that ended him for good and also ended the power inside of the Nexus Prism. So, I suppose it was a powerful attack in the end.
Madame Odius: From the very beginning Madame Odius has been my favorite Villain in this season because she was so treacherous behind the scenes! Well, her plan had finally come to fruition when she activated the Magnet Beam and used it to attract the Ninja Steel that Galvanax had just drank! What I loved the most is that she bragged about betraying him! “It was me, it was always me!” with an evil cackle was one of the best lines of the entire episode! Unfortunately for her so got a little payback as the asteroid of Ninja Steel the Rangers had been eyeing came right for the Warrior Dome knocking the entire ship and Odius deep into space!
The End of the Ninja Steel Powers: After the Ninja Nexus Morph attack the Ninja Nexus Prism was cracked and out of power. This meant that the Ninja Steel was too unstable and could not longer be supported. The Rangers’ Power Stars turned to dust. I loved this scene because it was rather powerful to see this represented with actual sand/ash inside of the Rangers’ hands. Other seasons may have just shown the Rangers’ powering down or other such events. But I really loved the exposition here not only from the visuals, but from the way the Rangers handled the issue. The Powers, Zords and weapons were gone but the mission was accomplished and they all seemed proud of what they had done, yet still a little sad to know their journey had ended. This reminded me of many many of their predecessors, their powers may be gone but they are still Power Rangers.
Victor and Monty: Sigh. Well, I will give them one bit of a compliment. Victor and Monty actually had me enjoying them when they were captured and creating the new magnet beam. Monty called Odius “Omnibus” or something close to that and that actually made me laugh. I was actually enjoying the scenes with them during this part and the fact that they were regretting making the magnet, sure they were happy to destroy Galvanax but they were cautious when they heard that they could possibly have a hand in destroying the Rangers as well. I even enjoyed the fact that they were dressing up as Kudabots to attempt to escape! Then that’s when everything went to sh*t.
They intruded upon Cosmo’s finale presentation which again was a little funny because they tried to speak in a robotic voice to try to convince Cosmo that they needed to get to Earth to help Galvanax. But, Cosmo saw right through that because Kudabots don’t speak and then…. sigh, because of the Alien Slop that Monty had been eating earlier he began to fart and Kudabots don’t fart either.
It wasn’t just one fart either! Monty flooded the entire stage with massive green farts! I mean, come on! Why did we need this in this episode? Why did we need this in the finale? Why, just why!?!?! I was actually even beginning to like them this episode and they completely ruined themselves once more!
Then to make matters worse, after they escaped and the battle was won they took praise from the press as the only humans to escape from monsters and tell the tale. Apparently they also have a “scent” that can keep monsters away! Something like that can be worth a fortune! Of course, that got Victor thinking! Well, I guess we’re going to be selling bottled farts in Super Ninja Steel. Wow, you suck.
The Sweet Ending: As the events of the episode come to a close the Rangers along with Mick and Dane sit around the campfire as Levi tells the story of Robo-Aiden. Mick took his leave aboard a space taxi to take him back to his family in the Lion Galaxy, but before he left he had to correct Preston that even though they had no more power they weren’t “ex-Rangers” they would always be Rangers to him. Awww. My favorite part was that this scene did feel like a good end, for this part of the series anyway, and that all seemed peaceful. Especially that the Romero family actually sang their song together once more as it faded out into space….
The Game’s Not Over Yet!: In true Dino Charge Heckyl/Snide style, the Game was not over yet! The Warrior Dome is still floating in space with a large asteroid of Ninja Steel sticking out the side out it. As the Galaxy Warriors stage is in complete destruction, Madame Odius makes her way out of the rubble and vows revenge on the Rangers! Her time is not over yet, it’s just beginning and I cannot wait to see what is to come for her in Super Ninja Steel! Also, what happened to Cosmo? I swear if he died because of farts I am gonna flip some tables.
All in all I think that this Finale was very successful in ending this part of the story and even setting up new questions for the newest part of the Super season. Who is going to be the newest head villain of the show? Will it be Madame Odius seeking her revenge against the Rangers? Will she use that giant chunk of Ninja Steel against the Rangers? Will it be the strange Villain we’ve seen action figure photos of, Mangetsu? Or will Sledge actually become a Villain to contend with and not just be an Anniversary Episode Villain?
How will the Ninja Steel powers we restored and how will Super Ninja Steel come into play?
While the finale was pretty good, I do love that we have so many questions coming forward from this! It makes us excited to see Super Ninja Steel (well except for the bottled farts…)
I hope you’ve enjoyed my reviews of Ninja Steel, but there’s still one more left! Christmas is around the corner!
