While Bandai’s Legacy toyline will be thirty, flirty and thriving before it moves on from MMPR, it’s fun to imagine what kind of toys we might get for future Legacy lines!
As I did in my previous article with Possible Legacy Zeo Toys, I’ll be giving some examples of what we could expect from a Legacy Turbo line!
TURBO MEGAZORD
This set would include the 5 Turbo Zords (Red Lightning, Desert Thunder, Mountain Blaster, Dune Star, and Wind Chaser) and the saber, and would be able to combine into the Turbo Megazord.
TURBO MORPHER
An updated version of the Turbo Morpher would be both epic and productive! While the original included a key that was flimsy and fragile, the Legacy version would have a metal key, complete with morphin’ sound effects!
AUTO BLASTER
The Auto Blaster is more than your average fashion accessory! The Turbo Rangers’ sidearm is sure to do some damage! (So is the first half of Turbo.)
RESCUE MEGAZORD
Complete with the 5 Rescue Zords (Lightning Fire Tamer, Siren Blaster, Thunder Loader, Star Racer, and Wind Rescue) and morphenomenal accessories (the Turbo Megazord saber, Artillatron’s twin cannons, and the Turbo Headlight Blaster), this set would be able to combine into the ever-powerful Rescue Megazord! You know, until it got destroyed…
Red Lightning and Mountain Blaster are also able to combine with the Rescue Zords to form the Rescue Turbo Megazord! It literally looks like the Turbo Megazord with new arms.
5″ FIGURES
While the Red Turbo Ranger is the only member of the Turbo squad to get the 5″ figure treatment, the others still need their makeover! Thanks to the Legacy Turbo line, you’d finally be able to complete the team with Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Blue Senturion, and Phantom! Better yet, add some villain figures into the mix! Divatox, Elgar, and Rygog would make perfect 5″ figures, being that they served as the main villains for most of the season.
Bandai could even branch out and make a Maligore figure from Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie! It’d be long over-due, since they had a figure planned for him back in ’97 when Turbo was originally airing (read more here), and it’d make perfect sense since Bandai produced an Ivan Ooze figure for the Legacy MMPR Movie line. They’d also be able to re-release it during the Legacy In Space line as Dark Specter!
STORM BLASTER & LIGHTNING CRUISER
This 2-pack set would include the Storm Blaster and Lightning Cruiser vehicles, and they’d be the perfect size to pose the 5″ Turbo figures in.
ARTILLATRON
What’s a Legacy line without a carrier Zord? Artillatron will be able to store the Rescue Zords, and nothing else.
ROBO RACER
The Robo Racer is designed as a police car that has both a vehicle, battle mode and is complete with weapons such as giant handcuffs, a riot shield, and a Synergizer Blaster.
SENTURION SYNERGIZER
The Senturion Synergizer is the Blue Senturion’s personal weapon, and it’s able to switch between a blaster and blade, both equipped with a stoplight design on the side. This would make a very flashy addition to the Legacy Turbo line!
TURBO R.A.M.
This set would include the Rangers’ individual weapons, such as the Turbo Lightning Sword, Turbo Hand Blasters, Turbo Thunder Cannon, Turbo Star Chargers, and Turbo Wind Fire. They’d also be able to combine into the Turbo R.A.M. blaster.
OTHER POSSIBLE RELEASES
Other possible releases for the Legacy Turbo line could include a Turbo Navigator, complete with sounds and effects, and even able to morph into a blaster! Bandai could also continue with the Legacy Mask Collection, as they started with MMPR.
FINAL THOUGHTS
While not many people remember Turbo for necessarily being good, the original toyline had some pretty neat stuff, and it’d be cool to see updated versions of those. Honestly, though, a Legacy Turbo line is basically a stepping stone to get to the good stuff. We all know that Bandai is going in order, and they’d definitely milk Turbo for all its’ worth before giving us the much-anticipated Legacy In Space line.
