It’s time to race to another time and go over time and space! Could I fit the word “time” in any more?
Well, Dan Southworth who played the brooding bad boy Eric Meyers the Quantum Ranger sat down for a quick interview with us! We posed some questions about his time on arguably one of the best seasons; the set of the 9th season of Power Rangers, Time Force!

Had you ever heard of or watched Power Rangers before auditioning?
A: Of course. I was aware of the show when it came out before I moved to Los Angeles. I thought at the time that the show would be a good place to get a start as an actor with martial art skills.
What was the audition process for Time Force like?
A: There were multiple auditions and when you are new to the process it can be pretty nerve-wracking.
Do you remember what it was like to hear you got the part?
A: It was kind of surreal. By the time I had gotten the part I had auditioned many times and was use to hearing “No.” Its unfortunate that the people around me were not as happy or excited for me. Some thought that it was just another stunt job. I don’t really know why I didn’t have that much support. It made the process kind of lonely. All of it fit in with the emotional temperament of the character so it worked.
What was your first day on the set like?
A: I recall not realizing that I was actually going to be a sixth ranger, let alone a red one. I was still used to not being anything more that the standard “Red Shirt.” I was sure that at any moment they were gonna kill me off of the show.
Who would you say was your closest friend on the set?
A: Terence Rotolo. An actor who was also working jobs as a stuntman like me. We are still very close friends to this day. I go to him to prepare for auditions because he’s a talented actor and I think he should try his hand at directing.
Any funny behind the scenes stories?
A: Not really for me. I was very serious on the show.
If you can remember, What was your favorite Time Force episode to film?
A: Quantum Quest.
How did you go about playing Eric? Were there pieces of your own personality in him?
A: Eric is everything I was at that time. What you see was 90 percent me back then.
Do you happen to own any Quantum Ranger merchandise?
A: I bought the Quantasaurus Rex and the 17” action figure with my likeness when they came out. I bought them to put on display, but now days they mostly sit in my closet.
Many of the best scenes of Time Force were the clashes between Eric and Wes, how was it to film those scenes with Jason Faunt?
A: Jason was a great guy to work with.
If you were to return to Power Rangers once more, what would Eric be doing today?
A: I think of an Eric nowadays as a character kin to Han Solo.
There’s a rumor going around Ranger Nation that a death scene had been planned for Eric towards the end of Time Force; any truth to that?
A:No. It was never Koichi Sakamoto’s intention.
What lasting mark do you think Eric left on the viewers of Power Rangers, good or bad?
A: I think that the Eric character shows how complex people can be and that they can change for the better and grow.
Are you currently working on any projects you want your fans to know about?
A: Yes! Stay tuned to my Instagram for posts about the recent action film I’ve finished titled: Battle Drone.
It comes out on NETFLIX in April.
