In April of this year we reported that LEGO Builder Bruceywan had reached 10,000 supporters for his LEGO Mighty Morphin’ Command Center (and Minifigure) set! The set would then be sent to the LEGO corporation for evaluation as to if it met their standards to become an official LEGO set.
(For more information on the set, view our original posting here.)
Unfortunately, as posted here (and shown above) in the LEGO Ideas Official Blog page, we learned yesterday that LEGO has denied the 10,000 supporters of this project and has decided not to go forward with this set and instead supported a Tron Cycle of some sort.
Of course, we had many hurdles in our way during this process. Many will say it was because Power Rangers and Saban already has a deal with Megabloks and Mega Construx (Blegh). Sadly, I am writing this article because I really was behind this project not just as a lover of LEGO but as a lover of Power Rangers LEGO (what might have been) and I really believed this would have been a HUGE partnership for Saban and for LEGO not only for business purposes and the fans BUT for the 25th Anniversary.
Oh well, another disappointment to add to the list so far.
