TOOT-TOOT RESSHA SENTAI TOQGER. Let’s go! Today’s episode is entitled: “Super Cop, Ace Detective.”
On today’s episode, we start off with a vacuum stealing jewelry. Crazy stuff here.
As the ToQgers stop at a town to relax, Hikari wants to stay on the train and read a detective novel.
As the rest of the ToQgers set off for pasta, they are arrested by a detective.
He thinks that their arrival is on cue with the recent burglaries. OH MY.
With the rest of the ToQgers arrested, Hikari becomes a detective to find the real cause of the burglaries and to free his friends!
At the Shadow Line base, Madame Noire tells Zed that Vacuum Shadow is gathering shiny objects for Grita’s wedding dress. Baron Nero does not like Zed’s shiny obsession…
At the jail, the ToQgers are perfectly handling their capture. lolz
Ticket, Mr. Conductor, and Hikari become characters out of a 70s Japanese crime show. And I love Mr. Conductor’s sunglasses whip.
As Hikari searches for clues, he finds Vaccum Shadow stealing things from your local CVS/Walgreens. I love that he morphed in the store; you don’t see that much.
As Hikari begins to battle Vacuum Shadow, the rest of the ToQgers are cross-examined. Right confesses that they stole everything so he could get free food. Right is starting to grind on me. He’s not really a leader as much as a selfish brat. And yes I get that it’s part of his character development, but it’s grinding week in and week out.
Hikari shows up to offer the corrupt detective that the ToQgers are in fact innocent. We then go through shots of Hikari’s theory and a new robbery occurring when the ToQgers are in jail, setting them free. After the ToQgers are released, they go after Vacuum Shadow using Hikari’s detective skills.
They find him at an abandoned warehouse with loads of stolen merch. They take him out with this week’s Coupling Bazooka Rainbow Rush attack: “Shiny Fish Sushi Platter Barrage.”
Yes friends, they took him with a platter of sushi. God help this attack at episode 40; it’s going to be like a bottle of soap.
In the pile of stolen goods, Right finds the Police Express support ressha. That’s random.
It combines with ToQ-Oh to form ToQ-Oh Police. Very reminiscent of Dekaranger/SPD to me.
They finish Vacuum Shadow off with “Police Smash.” Kind of like Hulk Smash, but with handcuffs and a laser gun.
Mio and Kagura have an aside that they didn’t arrest him, but used police weapons. lol
Back on the Rainbow Line, all of the ToQgers eat sushi at the same table, but want better sushi. Lord.
And finally we’re left with 70s Mr. Conductor drinking brandy out of a huge glass. LOVE. hahaha
And I don’t know who this dumpling guy will be in the next episode, but I’m already obsessed. haha And we all remember my obsession with Kewtie in Kyoryuger. haha
Review
I liked the Police Express ressha and kitschy 70s themed police detective stuff, but I feel like I need more from Hikari; more flashbacks, more depth. Yes he’s smart and quiet, but what else? I also loved the transformation in the CVS. That just doesn’t happen much. I give this episode a 7 out of 10 just for the large glass of brandy.
Also, ToQ6 will be arriving around episode 17!! I know I’m excited for an iPhone morpher, orange traffic stick sword, and an ex-Shadow Line monster to become a ranger!
Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1/PowerSentai. Stay imaginative!
