TOOT-TOOT RESSHA SENTAI TOQGER. Let’s go! Today’s episode is entitled: “Tokatti Dies at Dusk!”
We begin today’s episode with the team discussing Tokatti running to the next station for endurance training.
A boy named Hiroki doesn’t see the train Tokatti is waving at (it’s the ToQger trains). WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.
At the Shadow Line base, Baron Nero tells General Schwarz he’s getting a new Darkliner to look strong for the Emperor.
Madame Noire is creating Grita’s wedding dress and she is not having any of Baron Nero’s shit.
And once again Grita is thirsting for General Schwarz. Startling.
The monster this week is named TypeShadow and creates titles that come true, like death and ToQ Express blasting off into space. (Team Rocket reference, haha.) The team stops at the station where Type Shadow is at before he does any damage. As they arrive, Type Shadow sends the trains off….
….And gives Tokatti death as he bikes to the battle from Hiroki at the park. TypeShadow runs off and the team chases after him.
Hiroki hates himself for not hitting a baseball at a game and doesn’t believe in imagination now.
Tokatti tries to explain that there is a difference between imagination and believing in one’s self. Imagination is seeing your self taking the steps to do something, where as believing is just a wish.
As Right, Mio, Kagura, and Hikari take on Type Shadow, Tokatti joins the team. Tokatti’s plan is to confuse the monster; the sun sets and Tokatti dies.
But while confusing TypeShadow, Tokatti typed out an addition to the title, his revival after! TOKATTI HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD! PRAISE BE TO TOKATTI. Plus, Hiroki has an imagination again after seeing Tokatti succeed!
The final Coupling Bazooka attack this week is “Calligraphy!” It wrote a message on him and destroyed him with a fountain pen. Cool cool.
The ToQger ressha are IN SPACE, so the the team calls upon Diesel-Oh who gropes the monster. I think that’s called sexual harassment.
With the groping, Diesel-Oh gets a new title, the return of ToQ Express!
Tokatti takes Diesel-Oh and the others man ToQ-Oh for a pretty bad ass megazord combo battle at night! TypeShadow becomes obsolete thanks to Diesel-Oh’s Spinning Kick and ToQ-Oh’s Express Slash! (See what I did there. I made a type writer joke.)
Hiroki waves goodbye to Tokatti who now has an, let’s all say it together, IMAGINATIONNNNN.
At the end of the episode, Tokatti spins too quickly and hurts his back so Wagon holds his foot. Nossan and Candelira feelz.
Review
I love Tokatti, but this episode was a little bland. No new trains or formations other than them being together in battle, Tokatti really doesn’t get character development as much as the freaking kid does, and no Shadow Line revelations. Pretty straightforward, but I’m getting kind of bored with the show. I would say a 6 out 10. I think next week will pick up with the entrance of the Emperor (who’s a real person) and new mecha formation.
Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1/PowerSentai. Stay imaginative!
