I’ve been a collector for quite awhile now, and love to collect both Super Sentai and Power Rangers toy lines. This weekend marked the release of our ever so imaginative ToQger’s next addition to their Gattai Series lineup, Diesel Ressha in Japan. This completes all three components of Diesel-Oh when combined with Tank Ressha and Car Carrier Ressha. The three Ressha that make up Diesel-Oh have been offered for sale separately, and starting today as a complete package, much like Go-Buster Oh during Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.
Diesel Ressha is the 8th Ressha in the ToQger Gattai Series, but it’s actually the 11th Ressha to be released outside of ToQ-Oh’s main 5, Shield, Scope, Energy, Tank and Car Carrier Resshas. The individually sold Diesel Ressha retails for around 3,500yen, depending on where you decide to pick yours up. The DX Diesel-Oh set, comes with Diesel, Tank, and Car Carrier Resshas, and will retail for around 6,500 yen. It is worth noting that the set is about 500 yen more expensive than if you just purchased all three Resshas separately, with possibly even more savings now that sites like HLJ and Ami Ami sell the Tank and Car Carrier Resshas below retail price.
If you love first release bonuses, you’ll really enjoy the special Rainbow Ressha that comes with the first orders of both Diesel Ressha and Diesel-Oh this weekend, and while supplies last of course. What makes this first release bonus special compared to the past few seasons of Sentai, is it actually activates unique sounds from the ToQ Changer, making it more than just the average repaint, and it also contains translucent plastic! If you want to have a complete Ressha collection, I’d place your order this weekend, as these first release bonuses tend to go fast and jump up in price on the secondary market quickly.
Here is a list of online stores that will be selling both Diesel Ressha and Diesel-Oh. Given HLJ and Ami Ami take preorders, they may not be the best place to score the first release Rainbow Ressha. CSToys should have a good number for this weekend’s orders, and CDJapan also tends to include first release bonuses as well with launch weekend orders, even though they never advertise it:
