Let’s breakdown a special Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Gaburincho of Music the Movie!
We start off our musical with Meeko singing about love and shit. Real nice.
But then, two evil lizard ladies show up to kidnap Meeko. Have no fear, the Kyoryugers show up (minus Utchy because I actually have no clue why) and send the Paramonsters and evil ladies off.
We then find King and Meeko reminiscing about their past in the forest. Meeko also realizes that she lost her favorite necklace. THE HORROR. Deathryuger also makes his fabulous entrance with deadly flute.
The rest of the Kyoryugers show up to use the Kentrospiker, but Deathryuger debosses in (like braving in but bad) and uses his Demonic Score, Deboss Finish attack to hurt our friends.
After he neutralizes the team, Deathryuger kidnaps Meeko…..
Back at the Deboss base, Candelira is singing a great song while Luckeiro plays a piano/flute and Aigaron does Gangnam style.
But is rudely interrupted by Deathryuger (“D”). Dogold is angry because D is powerful due to Chaos gave him the beast battery long ago.
We find out that D’s capture of Meeko makes him “invincible” and that D is the Solider of Brutality who drains emotions from dinosaurs.
At a museum, Torin explains that Beast Battery #0 was Tobaspino and was the first Voltasaur ever created.
Tobaspino was captured by Deathryuger and tried to force Tobaspino to destroy all other dinosaurs.
Back to Deathryuger, we find him trying to alter Meeko’s song so that he can become invincible. After taking and changing Meeko’s song, D summons Tobaspino.
Who attacks the city and the other Kyoryuger dinos. Ankydon and Bunpachy try to help as well, but are taken over and forced into a snap-together formation: Spino-Daioh.
During this we find out D is into BDSM. JK. He uses Tobaspino to attack the city and foreshadows that Meeko will be sacrificed to create the “Great Eradication Blast.”
Back to the Kyoryugers, Ian breaks out into Meeko’s song. Like a good musical should.
During this we learn that King gave Meeko the triangle necklace.
Spino-Daioh is charging up it’s blast….
But then suddenly Utchy comes out of nowhere and tells Pteragordon to put his goggles on so to protect him from the evil song. Goggles protect eyes, not ears. BUT OKAY.
The Kyoryugers transform and take out the Deboss clan. But not before we get some kickass bike fighting!
After Deathryuger returns to Spino-Daioh, the Kyoryugers call upon Raiden Kyoryuzin. They fight and eventually stab Spino-Daioh so King can crossover and save Meeko.
King is about to save Meeko when D takes off his helmet. AHHHH.
D fights King down till he’s run out of power….
But Meeko stands back up and breaks out into song!
And D realizes that Meeko is singing the mecha into the blast.
Deathryuger tries to stop King by using his “Final Deboss” attack, but King calls upon a double Gabutyra power, “Doublechomp Armed On!”
Daigo-King pushes D out the hole and they fall into a fight. Raiden Kyoryuzin saves King while D falls to his death, but what about Meeko in Spino-Daioh heading straight into the blast?
SINGING WILL SAVE HER.
The singing turns Spino-Daioh from evil to good.
King then gives Meeko the new, good Tobaspino beast battery as a good luck charm right before she hits the stage.
And the team relishes in King’s love with Meeko.
Review
This movie was strange, but good. I absolutely loved the same song that played over and over, but beside the team breaking out in that song every time and Cadelira’s song, it really wasn’t a musical. (I have a Bachelor’s degree minor in Music so I have thoughts. haha). Unless you include the background music which you shouldn’t. Utchy being gone until the middle of the movie was very weird too. And as much as I loved D’s suit and evil flute, King’s special movie power-up was kind of dull and the Tobaspino/Spino-Daioh mecha is just a repainted Gabutyra with an added fin. Overall, thought the movie was interesting and engaging, but a little boring. 6.5 out of 10.
Until next time, this has been SimplyScott1. Stay Brave!
