Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 36 – “Giga Chompachomp! The Silver Miracle!”
Welcome back from the break! We’re right back to where we left off last time and Chaos drops the family bomb that Torin was the priest of the demon blade.
And that another Torin (he real angry) has been born from the demon blade.
Who is also mad, Chaos’ bodyguard, and ready to murder our leader.
Back at the spirit base, Ramirez and Tessai offer us a really cool diagram of hell and such. WTF is even going on. haha
They explain that Bragigas and Guardma were essentially sealing off the Debo hell and now that both have arouse, all hell has broken loose. See what I did there?
Ramirez and Tessai head off to rest while the Kyoryugers go into the city to fight the ghost monsters from hell!
Our hotmess generals were in hell as well, but were able to make it out too.
Evil Torin then explains that the reborn monsters are gathering energy for him to grow stronger.
Which leads Utchy to have one of the best one-liners ever.
While the main Kyoryugers fight off the ghost Debos, Torin battles evil Torin. Such wonderful camera work.
Yayoi, with her badass self, explains that the cannon finisher just needs a brave warrior to harness the power. HINT HINT TORIN.
While Yayoi is chatting with Torin, Souji, and King, Rika (Nossan’s niece) is kidnapped by Evil Torin! THE HORROR.
Who is then almost sacrificed to the gods. But was saved by Nossan. Dammit.
Nossan then goes ape shit on a monster while the other Kyoryugers fight off other monsters as well.
During these fights, Torin peps him self up and summons all the bravery he can muster.
He then brings out the Giga Gaburevolver and it attaches to him (colorizes as well).
And transforms into THE FINAL AND LAST KYORYUGER, THE RADIANT WARRIOR, THE 10TH MEMBER: KYORYUGER SILVER. PS Torin’s henshin dance is pretty much a death metal guitar solo (not a samba like the rest of the Kyoryugers).
Torin uses his giga sword (my name for it) and uses his Torinity Strazor attack to triangle slash Evil Torin back to hell.
Lukerio reinvigorates Evil Torin into a large monster, so the team calls upon GIGANT KYORYUZIN.
Who then uses the final Kyoryuger mecha attack: Super Voltasaur Charge, All Gigant Explosion (of clusterfuck batteries).
This badass attack destroys Evil Torin. The team meets back at the side of the lake that has now been refilled since the gate to hell at the bottom of it has been sealed thanks to Evil Torin’s death. The team then laughs and sets out to destroy the remainder of Debo ghosts walking around.
Review
I really enjoyed this episode. I love the final mecha attack, Torin’s death metal guitar henshin dance, the ending of this story thread, and now finally meeting all of the Kyoryuger warriors. From here until the end of the series, there should be no other extra Kyoryugers being added to the team. Although I’ve enjoyed learning about Torin’s past, the family dynamics of King and Torin being related to almost everyone has been a lot to deal with/semi annoying. lol I hope the last 14 episodes bring back some comedic elements from Luckiero and Candelira (maybe even some backstory for them), more character development for the main Kyoryugers, and less huge battles. I feel like this series has had a lot of EPIC battles that take up too much time; just make some stupid Nossan jokes and have Candelira sing and I’d be good. Oh and for Yayoi to be around more. Anyways, a good episode. 9/10.
