Let’s breakdown Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: Brave 35 – “Holy Crap! Gigant Kyoryuzin”
First off, I love the title of this episode. Anyways, today we find our team trying different portals to try to get back to the spirit base. Torin, Ramirez, and Tessai haven’t been heard from in awhile as well.
If this isn’t the biggest plot hole I’ve seen in awhile….
Yayoi saves the day and programs the guns to transport them to the base now (in Bragigas) where they find Torin.
Yayoi also makes Torin a gaburevolver in platinum…. How chic!
The team finds that Chaos has found Guardma’s central piece and is going to bring him back! OH NO.
Chaos also explains that the other pieces of Guardma are inside Bragigas and will curse him, causing the batteries to lose their power!
The team transforms, but very sadly. The team’s emblems don’t even appear and the team feels almost powerless from low batteries.
During this, Chaos infiltrates the spirit base and attacks Torin.
Chaos then summons Guardma who starts attacking the city and the Kyoryugers call upon Rocket Kyoryuzin who barely combines.
Chaos traps Torin and starts to explain how Torin’s dimise is at hand.
Chaos starts the guilt-trip speech and blames Torin for Bragigas’ and the other dinosaurs extinction.
Rocket Kyoryuzin isn’t doing well. This cockpit shot is just amazing.
Rocket Kyoryuzin gets blasted apart by Guardma and the team falls down to earth untransformed. Where, although hurt, Nossan stills gets a good joke in.
Two by two we see loved ones helping the fallen Kyoryugers get back up and remind them why they are fighting.
A crowd forms and the Kyoryugers are reawakened by the people’s bravery. The team musters their bravery and summon Kyoryuzin and Pteraiden-Oh Western to take on Guardma.
The bravery also wakes up Torin. Yayoi finds that the new gaburevolver she made him had saved him from Chaos’ last blast.
With Bragigas awakened due to the massive amount of bravery, the team calls upon the final mecha of the Kyoryuger series: Gigant Kyoryuzin. The teams blasts away Guardma, but not before striking a hole in the ground to HELL.
At the end, a dark/evil Torin springs from the hell hole. Is this hole an alternate reality?!? WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN.
Review
Well. I love Gigant Kyoryuzin; it’s a cluster fuck and I love it. The lack of Yayoi untransformed kind of annoyed me, but overall, a pretty decent episode. I really enjoyed the pissy Chaos rant at Torin and the kids showing the Kyoryugers bravery. Some parts of this episode dragged and you could tell they were trying to make this episode climactic, but sometimes just become really boring. Anyways, pretty good episode: 7/10!
