I have to start off by saying that are only 5 episodes into this season and you all know that I am a huge fan, but this episode was by far my favorite out of all of them! We got to see more of Gia and Emma’s friendship and we got a lot of comic relief from the boys. This was our first female monster and Beezara was just fabulous and commanded her stature over even the highest of generals within WarStar! The episode showed a valuable lesson that friendship is some of the strongest magic around. We got to see a slight hint into what Vrak can do and finally a little anger from Admiral Malkor! The last of the Brothers of the main Rangers appeared and it’s all just going to get better from here. Let’s analyze some of the best and worst parts of the episode.
We open on Gia and Emma shredding into the forest with their BMX bikes searching for an elusive flower that only blooms once a year.
When they finally find it Emma gets the pictures she so desperately wanted and the two of them bond and take pictures together. Now this was a cute picture montage scene even to rival Antonio’s Fishzilla photo-shoot!
Their moment is ruined as Gosei commands them to report in. Now, this was annoying because we’ve only gotten one scene with the Rangers in the command center and even I was excited to see them return, sadly they did not.
When the Rangers arrive on the scene they meet Vrak for the first time who seems to be sporting new armor for the occasion. This was a later episode of Goseiger that was interwoven into this episode of Megaforce. In Goseiger it makes sense because at this time Vrak’s Sentai counterpart had aligned himself with the newer set of villains. This has not happened yet in Power Rangers so some found it to be a tad confusing. To me, if I had not seen the Sentai, would think that when he comes to Earth he acquires new armor to battle. This is how I am rationalizing it for now.
Vrak throws several waves of Loogies at them but the team shows their true power and destroys them fairly easily.
There was some impressive teamwork from the girls and the boys congratulate them for their teamwork.
Vrak returns to the ship where Malkor reveals that their new monster will be arriving soon. She also claims to be royalty as well.
Vrak shows an interest for about two seconds before Beezara the Queen Warrior Bee arrives!
I have to say that in her first scene I absolutely love Beezara, she is so above the other WarStar aliens and she commands respect! Her wicked poisonous royal jelly venom makes male humans her servants and the females fight until they destroy each other.
I’m sure this was just random writing gone wrong in this scene, but who in the hell develops their photos anymore? I mean, I’m sure people still exist that do that but Emma develops her photos, then says she is going home to upload them. What kind of camera was that? I mean, is she going old school and it only has film? Images of the camera suggest to me that it is a digital. So why develop, then upload? I don’t know, I was super confused by that. Maybe I am just reading into it too much.
Beezara appears behind them at the photo place and blast them with her venom! Instantly the girls grow angry towards each other. Emma accidentally drops the photos and Gia gets angry at her clumsiness. When Gia and Emma fight over a picture the two rip it and crumble the two halves to the ground. Later, When Gosei calls them about an impending monster attack the two head off without each other.
Jake and Noah are back at school and as Noah types away at the computer Jake wants him to hurry up so that he can join the soccer game going on outside. Noah ponders though that Vrak did not look like an insect as the other monsters had. Suddenly Jake notices that outside the boys playing the game are being attack by Loogies and Beezara’s venom has spread to them!
Noah and Jake head out to confront Beezara, but after Morphing they get attacked with her venom as well which caused their powers to de-morph!
The duo lay on the ground completely paralyzed.
Troy, Gia and Emma show up and send a blast at Beezara to hold her back.
While the girls attend to Jake and Noah, Troy flies at her with his Dragon Sword and attempts to take her on.
After a valiant fight, Troy is struck with venom as well and is paralyzed.
Sadly, Gia and Emma can’t stop arguing and even try to force their weapons together!
Neither of them can work together and the two of them take Beezara separately. Strangely, Gia still tries to save Emma from harm and this angers Beezara who slams them which causes them to fly across the field and into the goal like a ball.
Gia and Emma de-morph and Beezara orders the boys to carry her back to her hive.
Back at her hive the Rangers and the boys at the soccer game have become her slaves. Noah rubs her nasty feet, Jake fans her and Troy files her disgusting nails. When Noah talks back Beezara commands Jake to strike him with the fan, Jake can’t help himself and obliges!
While searching for the hive the girls continue to argue and when their logic does not align correctly they decide to go their seperate ways too look for the others. Each with their own plan.
Emma stumbles upon Beezara’s hive first but when she morphs and confronts Beezara she gets tangled in a web of vines and is left powerless to Beezara’s attacks!
The boys wonder where Gia is and as soon as she shows up and begins to battle Beezara they want to join in!
However, they’re blocked by a large force-field around the hive!
Even with Emma tied up the girls continue to fight and Beezara reveals her plan to the boys.
Gia calls upon the Land Brothers and uses the Dino, Beetle and Rhino to send powerful blasts at Beezara!
Gia sends more insults than blasts and blames Emma for the boys being captured. Jake and the others attempt to sway them back to f riendship, they have been best friends since they were 6! But, Beezara casts another spell on them to shut them up, their hands cover their mouths and they can’t speak.
Suddenly, the girls realize they must be under a spell as nothing had happened to create friction between them.
This makes the Pink Ranger really angry!
The power of friendship breaks the spell and unlocks the Sky Brothers Card!
Emma summons the Hawk, Crow and Ptera Zords! She use s the Crow Blast to free Gia!
Emma uses the Hawk Blast this time to take the fight out of Beezara!
Emma uses the Ptera while Gia uses the Dino Zords to use the Ultimate Dino Blast and destroy Beezara!
The boys congratulate the girls on their victory and Jake begins his usual loud mouth rants attempting to impress Gia. Gia places his hand back on his mouth and reminds him that girls like the strong silent types.
Vrak sends his Zombats to make Beezara grow! The Rangers call upon the Gosei Great Megazord and take her on, but her wicked paralyzing tendrils prove to be a worthy adversary!
Troy calls upon the Sky Brothers for help!
Sky Brothers come out charging and not only free the Megazord but they also blast Beezara with powerful lasers!
The Sky Brothers combine to create the Sky Megazord (Sky Gosei Great) which provides a powerful flight attack and a Sky Sonic Blast!
The Rangers use the Victory Charge, Sky Strike and put an end to Beezara once and for all!
Mega Rangers, that’s a MEGA Win!
United we stand, Divided We Fall!
The Rangers meet at Ernie’s and apologize and reconcile for all they had said and done.
Emma attempts to keep a secret from Gia, but she sent in the picture of the two of them to the newspaper as they had discovered the rare flower.
Gia pretends to be mad, but ends up smiling and the two embrace!
Final Thoughts
How often does it come along when not a lot more can be said about an episode! I absolutely loved this episode and far from others I have to say that I actually enjoyed Troy in this episode. We got to see a little more of his funny side, his heroic side and bond with the other guys. We haven’t seen much of that. I think that as the season goes on we are going to see Troy grow not only as a Red Ranger but as a friend to the others as well!
I loved Gia and Emma’s friendship and how it was able to overcome the spell and break it by the sheer power of their bond. I think this is a valuable lesson for kids to learn and I hope that the newer viewers of Power Rangers take the lessons to heart just as I did with Mighty Morphin.
Beezara is by far the best Monster in this season, so far, she had so much more depth and personality than any of the previous monsters and I hope that this becomes a trend. Yes, the monsters are only there to cause trouble and screw with the Rangers but when they have personality like this it really makes the episode work well.
When the boys are servicing Beezara in her hive has to be the best scenes in the episode. Jake having to hit his best friend with the friend (and Noah’s reaction!), or Noah having to rub her stinky feet with the long toenails and the goop and fungus! (His facial expressions are priceless), and even Troy looked put off having to file her nasty nails! I could not get enough of those scenes!
Not to mention that scenes with the Ultimate Dino Blast, fantastic images and editing! WOW. What a great scene!
The Sky Brothers intro was fantastic and I can’t wait to see what the producers do with the rest of the Zords. I know that the Ultra Change Zord may not be easy to adapt so I cannot wait to see this! I hope that you enjoyed this episode as much as I did and I hope you enjoyed reading me talk about it!
