Power Rangers Mega Force possibly confirmed?
on June 7, 2012 at 9:08 pmAccording to an article posted by Retail-Merchandiser’s Website boasting the success of Power Rangers Samurai and the current Power Rangers Super Samurai! It included such strategies as in re-imagining the popular brand:
“Saban Brands looked to the elements that made it popular the first time including monsters, humor, characters and colorful and fast-paced action. Its team even reviewed old episodes and brought back its original executive producer and several original writers. The new series is filmed in high-definition and features advanced special effects.”
The website also showcases that Power Rangers is still a powerful brand:
“Saban’s re-establishment of the brand on television is proving successful. The show draws an average of 2 million weekly viewers and is the No. 1 boys-oriented property on Nickelodeon as well as the top-rated kids action series on television.”
While it also discussed its international reach as well as Saban’s collaboration with Paul Frank, an interesting note was made when it began to discuss the 20th Anniversary of the Phenomenon Franchise:
“Next year will mark the landmark 20th Anniversary of the Power Rangers brand, an occasion for which Saban Brands is already deep in preparation. Plans for the anniversary include a new series, “Power Rangers MEGAFORCE.””
With the reveal of the name we’ve all been wondering is real or not they also discussed the ideals behind the anniversary. They expect that older fans will be able to participate in online activities & special events that will also draw in younger fans.
“We’re in an exciting place as a brand. We look at the 20th anniversary not just as a celebration of the past, but as our entry into a third decade,” Dekel says.
Another interesting note must be mentioned “With new series launching every two years that reinvent the brand and change its theme, Power Rangers looks to remain a force in children’s entertainment. “ It looks like we are going into a new series every two years as we’ve seen with Power Rangers Samurai and not a new series each year as we’ve grown to love over the past 20 years!
I’m not sure if I like that, I mean I’ve always loved a new cast, new Rangers, new Sentai each year. This could mean that Power Rangers will be behind Super Sentai by many years as time goes by.
What do you all think of this new change and the name of the Power Rangers 20th Anniversary?

Frankly, I think things are going well, but different. I don’t think MegaForce is such an amazing title, but it keeps things simple, like the new Mortal Kombat game. And about splitting every Sentai season into two american seasons is actually a smart move, because, this way, Saban can manage 20+ episodes season instead of 50+ like it did before, better arranging it’s advertising money, and having more to invest in each season. Besides that, it’s an elegant way to avoid Sentai season they don’t trust, like Gokaiger, whose theme could be really hard to sell to an ocidental audience. Remember seasons like In Space, Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed Rescue, where the producers would change the whole plot to fit the audience? Well, they won’t have to change so much anymore. They can choose what Sentai season to use, and even take aspects from one season and using them in another one, like they used to do in Power Rangers’ first few years. Take the White Ranger for instance.
i’m sure megaforce gonna be nice
Hi there:
Well, as far as I’m concerned with “PR MEGAFORCE”, I think it’ll be cool. I realize that a lot of evidence from PR forum boards and casting news states that it’ll be a “Gokaiger” adaptation (with Goseiger suit colors). I know that Saban Brands wanted to have “Gokaiger” adapted into the 20th anniversary of PR. That’s why he had the Legend War footage refilmed, specifically for PR MEGAFORCE. Although, I also understand that “PR Star Force” could be the “unknown role” adaptation within PR MEGAFORCE. That’s what I could make out of all this information and from here at “MorphinLegacy”. It’ll be very interesting to see what Saban Brands has for his plans on the 20th anniversary of PR. Also, to try to get used to two years per new PR season? Wow, that’ll really stretch out the future of the PR timeline by a whole lot of time behind Sentai. I agree with the “Morphinlegacy” web site owner about that one. I didn’t want to believe that at first, but Saban Brands wants to move forward with this new scheduling format? That means for every one Sentai counterpart season, Saban Brands will adapt that next consecutive Sentai season into 2 years of its PR adaptation counterpart. So, yeah, the PR timeline will continue to fall further behind Sentai this way. So, according to my calculations, the PR “Go-Busters” adaptation will end up being in the years 2017 and 2018. I know we probably won’t like that, but I believe it’s the new scheduling format we’re going to have to get used to for PR’s future, according to Saban Brands’s plans for PR’s future. The one thing I realize about the future of the PR timeline is that Saban Brands has some awkward plans for PR’s future as far as I can see. It’s just going to be some very interesting future plans by Saban Brands.
I appreciate your time for anyone reading these comments I have here. Bye.
Crap! Power Rangers Mega Force? Seriously this?? I am a huge fan of Power Rangers more I did not like that title!. I thought that would be adapted by Goseiger and the name would be: Power Rangers Star Force, or Gokaiger: Power Rangers Pirates. And what will be adapted, or Goseiger Gokaiger? This title Mega Force, is a Mega Shit!. What is it?
